Of is not a verb. Maybe you meant would've or would have.

Didn't he decide to fly back after the info leaked?

Anyone implying on a message board that they know anything outside of what has been said (That he isnt a suspect) is a fool or lying through his teeth. So which one do you qualify as?

Regardless of guilt or innocence, LC and his agent screwed this up big time.

If he is involved, what difference does it make what round he got drafted.....it's not like the team was going to sign him until the issue was resolved anyway.

If he is not involved, why not fly back and try to clean this up as quickly as possible to clear his name.

He actually went to Chicago after the info leaked (LINK), and only returned once teams started removing him from their draft board.

For the record, I personally think Collins had nothing to do with the murder, but he is getting terrible advice from those around him. Everyone wants to keep blaming BRPD on screwing him over. This is on Collins and his advisers.

Yes he left on Wednesday.

LINK

"On the eve of one of the biggest days of his life, former LSU offensive lineman La’el Collins’ draft situation is shrouded in uncertainty.

Collins, expected to be a first-round NFL draft pick Thursday night, left Chicago on Wednesday to return to Baton Rouge and plans to meet with police regarding the shooting death of a pregnant woman, a source confirmed with The Advocate."

Because some murders are not solved for years this thread may become the longest running thread in the history of Tiger Rant if not all since the creation of Tigerdroppings

Tiger Rag Story

His attorney sounds pretty emphatic that he isnt a suspect and has nothing to do with it. Sorry to disappoint GeeOH.

could plea insanity but yeah an attorney will likely say he wasn't involved even if the guy did it.

I would think if there was a shred of a possibility that he was involved he would be this specific and direct, no?

You have to play the hand you're dealt. They were in a no-win situation with the NFL, and talking to the police too soon may have caused this to drag out even longer. The police may have wanted to wait to talk to him until they gathered phone records, vetted out witnesses, etc.

Again, I know nothing of LCs personal situation, but I'm not lying and far from a fool.

My experience is from criminal defense standpoint and how the police go about these situations.

PCs lawyers initial comments and the course of action taken by the police after LC lawyered up shows a lot. That does NOT mean he's still suspected of involvement after the interview. Who does know besides the investigators?

This situation is unique and in hindsight if LC is cleared, how dumb it will become of him ignoring their first request and handling right away.

From the way things stand at this moment, La'el is telling the truth. He has an alibi that has been verified, he has spoken with the police and is a free man. Now, I hope for his sake things remain this way and he goes on to have a long and prosperous NFL career.

He met with police and still isn't cleared. If this meeting happened on Tues of last week then he still prob wouldn't have been cleared by the draft.

i'm not hoping he was involved.

i'm just not going to deny the suspiciousness of this whole ordeal just bc he is a former Tiger.

Saying things like he's innocent until guilty is beyond retarded. Every criminal is innocent before guilty.
