Depth and lack of outside shooters were the weaknesses of this year's team. In last year's final, LSU got a career game of three-point shooting from Jazmine Carson, who was 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. LSU needed that kind of game from someone this time because Clarke shot much better tonight than in the finals last year.

Overall, another great season from the LSU WBB team.

There is no coaching strategy on the planet that can overcome some chick shooting from the concession stand at like a 65% clip

Tiger nation 84 is correct. Let Iowa operate in their comfort zone just the way they like to score! They have the best perimeter player in the league and you don’t put our best defensive player on her or even help on the high screens. Not good. We were way positive on the offensive boards because we had a superior inside game. Should have pounded the ball in the inside and got Iowa in foul trouble. At half time, Mulkey said Reese could score at will. We’ll, how about do that and crush on second attempt until Iowa is in foul trouble? Mulkey coached like I would have if I had money on the game.

If CC and team play the rest of their games like they did tonight then they will win it all. Some are missing the fact that regardless of how CC was defended tonight she was not going to be stopped. She was truly unstoppable. She had a banner game and you just have to give her credit for it. She deserves it!
Angel Reese getting hurt changed the scoring potential for LSU tremendously. The score was tied 48-48(?) at half and AR was carrying the Tigers. Her mobility after getting hurt was severely limited and left her unable to get up and down the court as she has done in the first half . No one stepped up to fill the scoring void caused by AR being hurt. Our girls shot a lot :however, those shots did not fall. LSU fell instead to end their very difficult attempt to repeat as national champs. It was a very good season and this coach and team have much to be proud of!

The decision to play HVL on CC was absolutely questionable. I'm honestly shocked that it was even considered much less done. Kim's won 4 titles and one of the best women's coaches ever but that was a decision that can definitely be second guessed.

Poe and Lith’s shooting was bad. Brick city. Mulkey wasn’t missing those shots

Don’t trap or double the best Women’s shooter on the planet,

You clearly didn't see everytime we helped that Clark found the open player and it killed us. Trapping off the pick and roll cold have been a change up but shes so good at finding the open player that it stretches our defense to open shooters. But, I will say putting Johnson on her would have been a better option than HVL but I'm guessing Mulkey didn't want to tire her out and lose her offense.

No doubt, not piling on HVL but she's definitely not our best on ball defender to be diplomatic and we put her on probably the greatest female college basketball player of all time.

Morrow doesn’t get the ball enough because we don’t have a point guard that manages the offense. When you watch the four teams that played last night it’s obvious which offense is slow and dependent on a low post player, Reese.

By far, the worst shooting game of the season. I don't remember so many players missing so many shots, some right under the goal. Can't say we didn't have opportunity.
Still, I'm a Tiger fan and hope that Angel returns. As I've said all season, our lack of productive bench players came back to haunt us.
I'm sure Coach Mulkey will have 'em back in fighting shape next year.

Kim got OUTCOACHED! plain and simple
We only scored 31 in second half. Lack of bench and terrible shooting in second half sealed out fate.

THIS! Thx for the post.

The refs called a decent game to me. Lack of reserves caused tiredness whick equaled missed shots and lack of D. Simple as that.

I knew LSU was done when Fla'Jae wasn't on Clark at halftime which equates to no coaching adjustments.

You're an idiot. We lost because of poor shooting. Clark is going to get her points. To beat them you have to out rebound and make your easy shots. We didn't make the easy shots in the second half.

I know a lot of you WBB bandwagoners don't watch a lot of college basketball but come on.. it's not that hard to comprehend.

_________

Sure a lot of coaches on here today. We should have had you on the sideline last night, It is easy to see that your coaching would have shut Clark down,
