Kyle Shanahan had some real nice things to say about Keiland heading into this week's game versus the Cowboys

Williams impressed during the preseason in beating out Willie Parker and Ryan Torain, who was signed to the practice squad, for a spot on the opening 53-man roster. He could be an intriguing option to fill the third-down role.
"He ran the ball real well," Kyle Shanahan said. "He had some natural running skills and we could trust him. He picked up the protection stuff real well.
"He knows what we're doing, especially for a rookie coming in. He's got no fear, doesn't mind putting his face in guys. He doesn't flinch at contact."

LOL. For three years, certain posters argued that Keiland didn't get the bulk of the carries because he was afraid to run between the tackles and "tip-toed" through holes.
It's incredible the kid didn't get more totes during his LSU career, especially in 08 and 09.

Washington may be the best place for KW to excel...Shanahan produces solid RBs every year.

I'm very happy for Williams and I hope he has a long NFL career, but I'm still perplexed as to why the LSU coaches didn't see the same things in him? He was benched very quickly. And was never really given a clear shot to be the number 1 RB.

Another great use of players by Les Miles. Les WASTED his time here.

maybe KEILAND wasted his time here?

Wait....did Les develop his skills but just waste him on the bench?
So you're saying Miles successfully developed an NFL talent!
I didn't think you morons gave the coach any credit, ever.

Then why all of a sudden is Keiland an NFL caliber back who understands the game and runs without fear of contact? If the Redskins coaches are impressed with him, why weren't the LSU coaches?

Shanahan produces great offensive lines every year Id say. Always has great run blockers.

Who the frick knows? There are a lot of variables and we don't know most of them. There could be many reasons. I remember him breaking off some fine runs and I also remember him going down like he was Trindon.

I think it was the fumbles that made him ride da pine

Keiland looked huge in the preseason games. Go Patrick!

he did tip toe through the hole, but it had nothing to do with fear.
he just doesn't have great vision or patience.

I’m saying maybe Miles does not recognize / utilize NFL caliber talent.

Agree. There was this other guy named Charles Scott that played into things.
Very happy for Keiland though.
And given that he made an NFL team, I am sure he is just fine with things.

I'm sure he would have preferred more playing time in college so that he could have actually been DRAFTED instead of having to sign as a free agent and wish for the best just so he could make a roster.

Just because Keiland will see action as a 3rd down back in the NFL does not mean that he was used improperly at LSU.
