Didn't Shep play for the Bucs last season?
Yes, mostly as a gunner. May get more opps on offense and kick returns this year.

Boone caught the deep fade better than anybody on the team last year. He made some great long touchdown plays. Good luck to him.

How insane would that be if Wright and Boone made the 53 man roster?

Four receivers in one year from LSU.

Boone is much farther along physically and with better WR skills than Shepard was. Boone can play in the NFL.

Shepard was on the active roster for the Buccaneers last year until he got hurt. I don't know how much receiver he played, I think it was mostly ST. I do agree that Boone is more NFL-ready than Shepard was.

Boone is legit. Two good TD's against Ga. His H'S highlights were good.not a burnerspeed wise.

8 remember really liking Boone and Wright's high school tape coming in. With Boone I thought we'd get a big play receiver (which is what we got). He reminded me of Golden Tate while he was at ND. Wright, I thought, would be our next top WR. Thing is, just one year later, we got a first and second round WRs who were too much to beat out. With one more year, I think they could have did some great things along with Dural and Smith.

Agreed. It would have been a good opportunity for them. Boone made some great plays, but I wish we could have seen more of Wright. I hope everyone realizes and appreciates the talent we have had at the WR position in the past couple of years. I look forward to seeing all these guys in the pros!

I remember reading how Boone was impacted heavily by Katrina (displacement, family members suffered badly) and how all of that drove him to succeed as a student, young man and football player.

Good for him for getting a shot at an NFL income.

After Russell went undrafted he said he took himself out of the draft in the 6th rd so the Eagles could pick him up.
The truthfulness of that statement was called into question.

100% bullshite
You can't sign with a team until you go through the draft process and you can't pull yourself off the board.

The eagles would have been penalized for this by the league

They both played a lot as freshmen early in 2010. Wright had a great pro day. Always knew boone could play. They both could have been more productive if JJ wasnt so awful in 2010.

For anyone interested, I found Snap Count Stats for Russell Shepard last year:

14 Games
32 Offensive Snaps
243 Special Teams Snaps (6 tackles, 2 forced fumbles)
