I honestly believe Les Miles is actually a worse X & O coach than Dale Brown was, and that is actually accomplishing quite a feat!!!
You have a minute left you are on their 25 year line and you call a time out because you can’t call a fricking RUNNING play without having a delay penalty!!! If that IDIOT would have just run the ball, just like he did coming out of the time out. Bama would have had 25 seconds left to drive the field for the FG to tie it!!
And the bone head move to squib it out of bounds obviously didn’t help. But I still believe they would not have had enough time even on the 35yd. All they did until they crossed midfield with 5 yd passes and they couldn’t have done that with only 25 seconds instead of a minute!
I was a fan of Les, but when you look at some of these past games we lost and we won you just go, how the hell did we actually do as well as we did under him! I honestly believe he is the worst clock manager in the history of college football!!!
Another game Les snatched defeat right out of the mouth of victory!!!

Of all the lsu-bama games during the "streak", this was absolutely the one we should have won

Pretty much, people don’t realize that Les was an ace recruiter, just a bad x’s and o’s guy, Les won a ton of games at LSU on talent alone!

I always wished the Michigan hire was true in 2007 but Kirk herbstreit let me down that day. His clock managements against ole miss and Tennessee back to back years alone was enough to get him out of here. He is a great guy but it was long overdue.

I'm watching it too and can't help but think Les stayed too long. Dude could recruit athletes but he just laid eggs at the most important times.

At least the game was competitive and LSU actually led in the 4th Q
Orgeron kicked a moral victory field goal down 29 points vs Bama....and missed
That’s what cream puff rent a win teams do when playing superior opponents
Embarrassing
Orgeron will probably never sniff a 2014-type game vs Alabama

Pretty sure that wasn't the plan

After Bama beat us in the championship game Bama started loading up on both sides of the line while we just loaded up on wrs and cornerbacks. That is where Bama started to dominate us from that point on and coach O is trying to reload on those positions. We are doing better on the dline but oline depth is not there yet. He better get it right on next year’s class.

It’s amazing what people can believe they see in a game compared to what actually happened.

The man could recruit
He could recruit everything but a damn QB.
Harris had come in for Jennings and HE was the reason the TO had to be called. I mean, as it was, it was a 39 yarder with Colby Delahoussaye, which was certainly not a given. Lose 5 more yards to delay of game and it's really a stretch.
Then kicking it out of bounds...shite, the squib was the right call. That's on the damn kicker...Domangue? How are you a kicker at that level and not be able to kick it straight?

Yes, but also did you notice that they go to commercial with 2:40 left and come back at 1:07 after V. Alexander penalty. Pretty convenient to skip that 1:30 most critical of game time on the broadcast.
Conspiracy, SEC/SEC network/Tom Ritter, nah..... nothing to see here

I was always amazed how he could get wrs without a quarterback lol

Can we talk about Stephen Rivers for a sec. I refuse to believe he was a worse option than Jennings/Harris in 2014. And the decision to redshirt multiple DL that could’ve played in 2013 to gain experience fricked us badly. Ego and Johnson played the majority of the reps in 2013 and 2014’s DL was completely raw with Godchaux starting as a true frosh.
The mismanagement of the program from 2012 onward was absolutely baffling.
2014 on paper should’ve been a 10 win team. 2015 should’ve been a national title contender. 2016 should’ve as well.
ETA: we had fricking Danielle Hunter... and completely wasted him for 3 years. He’s a monster in the NFL where he was actually taught technique

When les miles hired John Chavis it was like a band aid. It was great short term but a disaster in the long run. Chavis did great with the players we already had but he was terrible at recruiting and he stopped recruiting big dlinemen for faster shorter guys. Hell his last year we didn’t even sign a linebacker and he played DJ welter over Beckwith lol.

Damn even after watching highlights I hardly remember this game. How we were able to keep it competitive with Jennings at quarterback is nothing short of a miracle. And yet incompetency lost it for us.
Posted on 8/16/19 at 11:28 pm to Byrdybyrd05
In fall camp 2014 Chavis kept raving about Welter. “Most impressive fall camp I’ve ever been around”
Auburn was going in fricking dry and Beckwith came in and difference was night and day and Welter didn’t start again that season. Beckwith and Kwon were lights out until after Alabama when the team quit and we rolled into Fayetteville with chicken broth and hot cocoa to keep our players happy. I’m getting angry just thinking about this.
Barely won against Wisky. Melvin Gordon got pulled from the game for some reason.
Dak deep dicked us in TS.
Nick Marshall and Auburn demolished us 41-7
Lost a heartbreaker to Bama due to incompetency
Lost to Arkansas because the team quit basically
Lost to Notre Dame with Chief not even there
ETA: how could I forget about Jennings throwing like 3 picks against New Mexico State

Yeah I know it was kinda rhetorical because it just get frustrating to watch all his mistakes that cost us games

Yeah what a consolation, no different from saying “well if my Aunt had a dick, she would be my Uncle” it is a lose lose who cares
