No, I'm clearly asking why a segment of the LSU administration that isn't involved in athletics, has no direct responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the football team, and has limited familiarity with the person in question is now sanctimoniously meddling in a decision that lies beyond the scope of their experience and expertise.
University has every right to chime in since it's their reputation as well on the line. Whether some agree or not, it does reflect on the university.
Still the decision should be Les Miles 100%. He still has to answer to higher ups for his decision as it should be.
It's high profile, has gotten a hell of a lot of publicity so everyone will chime in with their .02 worth.

I'm not justifying his actions, but I think you are over exaggerating a bit.
Just trying to match some of the ridiculousness of some posters

I am a huge LSU fan, but this doesn't sit quite right with me. Having watched the video, it looked as if Hill "sucker punched" someone who was drunk. As an alumnus, I cannot support his rejoining the club despite his enormous talent; the line has to be drawn, and I do not care what other teams are doing in terms of discipline. Go ahead and tear me up. One Honey Badger was enough.

The kid has been punished. You don't have to accept it, but you don't have be such a cry baby too.
Even the kid that got hit asked that Hill not have jail time.
Whatever happened to forgive and forget?

I personally have never sucker punched anyone because I do not think it would be right. That in of itself is not a reason to suspend a player I do not think. It is just my opinion. It should be disciplined in some manner though not suspension.
Legally his situation is a little different due to previous probation, but is separate from team sports I believe.

To be fair, CLM tells Hill to get the 40 hours of community service then Hill's good to go.
That purpose of the sentence by the judge is to punish. Hill has been punished.
NOW IS THE TIME FOR HILL TO PUNISH ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD!!

I disagree.
Hill's actions were wrong but in no way does it rise to the level of being dismissed from the program.

I will always cheer for LSU. It is interesting that you can refer to me as pathetic, but you can support a player who hurts the team and the school. The bottom line is that if someone like me or you had had sex with an under aged girl and blind sided a drunk in the parking lot, we would have been in jail from day one. I will shout loudly for Blue, Hilliard, and Magee.

I'm sure you didn't cheer for JJ either when led us to win in GOTC-I at Gumps field, or T-Bob and Brad Wing for their off field situations that were not publicized; or how about Mett and his case with the harrasment? I don't disagree that these are not type things want to represent LSU but we are all a bit double edged sometimes; they pay their debt and lets move on; I think 1 or 2 game sit out is sufficient the crime here. Bring on the Frogs!

The difference is I am 28, and Hill fooled around with a girl at his High School.
You're right, if I did that I would be registered as a sex offender.
If I had sucker punched that guy, I probably would have gotten away with it because I'm not "famous" like Hill. He was arrested at home because witnesses could name him.
This doesn't justify his actions, but people act like he is a danger to society.
I just think he is a kid that has made a few poor choices.

I feel like if Hill plays, they'll let Fields appeal his suspension and overturn that too. If a kid get doesn't get suspended for blindsiding a drunk dude, then a kid shouldn't get suspended for his roommate having some sticky icky in his apartment. haha
