Perfect fit for LSU
Absolutely a perfect fit. Two identical minds. Less arguing and bickering when Les overrides and calls for the toss dive on 3rd and 25 for the 4th series in a row, just to catch the defense off guard..

I'm one of the many who opined that we need an OC. Now that we are about have one I will be optimistic. I think Cam is a great hire and will bring some 4 and 5 star recruits our way.

Funny how you conveniently leave out the part that talks cam up. He has his faults like every fricking coach. Thinkab this, when did the pats last win the super bowl? They should fire their coach, no excuses.

Disagree. He's a cool customer. We lose our minds at the close of games and it costs us. He won't do that. Additionally, we'll have an improved offense.

I certainly hope so... we need a change...now if GOD Miles lets him do his job.
Let's be positive and hopeful.

quote:just remember sean payton got his play calling duties stripped from him with the giants....the way i see it the ravens offence never had a pulse (for yeas)before cam arrived.now i cant say 100% that he will be great at lsu, only the future will tell...but i really like the hire..
after reading the aforementioned article produced by Dandy Don and thinking back to the two pro teams that he coached...My Jubilation has been reduced to skepticism...

If this doesn't work out, you may think differently. Miles may be inclined to give CC more time because they are close taking it longer to get rid of him.

. I think I will wait and see.

I have no clue how good or bad Cam will be but I am hopeful and optimistic. I would like to remind everyone what was said about Chavis when we hired him.
Tenn. fans were glad to see him go! 3rd and Chavis! Now he is hailed as one of the greatest DC in the business. I personally like him but I honestly don't think he is nearly as good as people think. He has had great personnel to work with.
Point is not be bash Chavis because I really like him, just that success doesn't depend 100% on oneself when it comes to coaching.

I get point and somewhat agree. Coaches get all the blame when things go wrong and players get all the credit when things are going good.
To me it's only a matter of if the players will buy what Cam is selling and I think they will. Put me in the "can't wait to see" category.

If anyone doesn't think Cam is a very big upgrade from Stud then they aren't an LSU fan at all.

It is funny isn't it Seriously tho, consider this...when you are about to purchase a new car are you comfortable with just hearing about how good it looks, how fast it drives, how many girls you can pull while driving it?
No( I hope not anyway) you want to see the engine, know the gas mileage, you want to know how much space there is on the interior maybe even its trunk capacity...
now you purchase this Badboy only to get a report that it has been know to flip while maneuvering in curves...wouldn't you as the owner now become apprehensive about that report...even tho you haven't driven your new car yet wouldn't you have doubts about its safety?
If your answer is yes then I hope you can see why I have apprehension(albeit I am still excited that coach miles listened and went out to hire a new OC with hopes that my apprehension is misplaced) about this new hire after reading the Dandy-Don article.

Nick Saban won a national title with a former Saints Emergency QB as a first-year OC. Before that, Jim McElwain had coached at Fresno State for two years, been a QB Coach for Art Shell's 2-14 Raider crew before getting canned, & then had been with Jonell Smith first and Louisville & then Michigan State.
We played in the national title game with Coach Dud & Krags. These are two guys whose previous experience included OC gigs at BGSU, Tulsa & one HC stint at Louisville where he called plays before getting canned. Before I forget, Krags had a cup of coffee at A&M coaching receivers for a Spring.
Now, we've gone on to hire an offensive coordinator who coached league leaders in the NFL. Who went to AFC Championship games multiple times, and who was the OC of the Super Bowl Champion before an ignominious departure over a locker room issue after 14 games this year.
This guy has worked with Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Antwan Randle El, Joe Flacco, etc.
But somehow this guy isn't good enough?
I'm a logical guy. I tried to have some fairly logical discussions with you on the Recruiting Board when you were fapping about Duke Riley, and you basically provided nothing to rebut my points.
I see the same thing here. Look at what you're saying.
We hired a former NFL Head Coach who was one of the most successful Offensive Coordinators in the League's modern era. He's got a background with Norv Turner-again one of the best offensive mind's in this Era of the League, himself an OC on multiple Super Bowl Champions. He's steeped in Air Coryell-which should make anyone that's been disappointed with our lack of usage of the TE take heart-and yet...you're here saying you're skeptical?
Who would've kept you positive? What hire could Les have made to make you happy?
I know. I know...Seriously, don't be mad. I agree, that's a trick question. We both know from your posting that there's NOBODY Les could've hired that would've pleased you.
I'm not the guy's biggest fan. Lots here and elsewhere can and will attest to that. But geezus, man...If you can't develop some optimism over this and sustain it, then ultimately, you may wanna push away from the game for a little while. You're holding on way too damn tight.

The writing in that piece is atrocious. He needs to fire his editor.
