Having Hornsby and Gray really make me want to go back to a 3 guard set and move Martin down to 4 next year. That's the only way to get the 5 best players on the court. Still, we will have more post depth next year so it makes sense to keep Martin at the 3.

Who is the 5 star recruit from Australia ( or perhaps New Zealand...can't remember) that committed? Thought his name was Simmons and his Godfather is an Asst Coach at LSU as I recall the story. No one is mentioning him in the posts above. Is he a 2015 and not a 2014 signee?

His first year will be the 2015-2016 year. Ben Simmons is a beast and will be awesome. He is a better version of Martin. Much better handles, a better shooter and should be a better defender. He's still growing and is already 6'10"

Start martin at the 4...then we have our best 5 out there

He's going to get plenty of time at the 3 when the bigs come off the bench

This is my mindset. I think our obvious top 5 next year are

Hickey
Gray
Hornsby
Martin
Mickey

So if you want your best 5 to start (you may not due to second team and how the depth chart fills in) then you have to move Martin down to 4. He can stretch out at the 4 spot anyway so we shall see. Still a lot of questions and off-season to be had.

This is the line-up that I think we will likely go with. Robinson looks a little doughy currently and might have some difficulty transitioning to college. I don't know if he'll have the stamina to go than a few minutes at a time if we decide to up the defensive intensity. I read on twitter that he was down to 290 so he's trying, but not sure if he'll be ready to start next season. I think SoS's smaller, but more dynaimc veteran line-up is most likely.

I think Martin will play time at both the 4 and 3 like this year but more time at the 4 than currently. We will have Epps and Robinson down low to back them up. My problem is who will back up the 2 and 3. If Morgan comes back healthy he is a likely candidate, but besides him, who can you actually play? Maybe some Hickey cause we will have 3 PG's. Patterson did play off guard some this year, but he is definitely coming in as the future PG after Q.

I think that should be the line up that gets the clutch time minutes but maybe not the starting line up. someone between hickey, gray and hornsby would be huge off the bench.

I think TQ can be very valuable next year wit his size and the ability he has shown to get to the goal. He needs to work on a pull up jumper and he would be extremely hard to guard at his size. Then he could contribute a good solid 5-10 mins

I will rebound with Tim every single day this off-season if it means he puts up 1,000 shots a day... He needs to get a shooting tutor and work on that every day. Andre Stringer shot 29.5% from three as a freshman and 41% as a junior. You can work on your shot. If Q can get it together shooting, then he will be very valuable.

He has a temple like quality that when he decided to go to the goal he is hard to stop because point guards don't have his size. I would love to see our bigs learn to cut to the block when their man leaves them to help.

I also wish I could drill it into jones head to stop the madness of giving mickey the ball 40 feet from the goal to start our half court offense. Its extremely maddening to see it happen over and over again. It waste 10 seconds or so and takes 2 or more passes before we are even a threat to score when we do that. I also feel like it jacks up the spacing.

I think Mickey comes back. his HS coach came out this week and said he is supporting Mickey staying in college.

I don't think he's a 1st rounder yet, but people will be interested in his growth.

Hickey is one of the best PG in the SEC

Then, the SEC sucks in its point guards!

Hickey is shooting under 40% from the field, under 60% from the line, can't penetrate worth a shite, and is averaging 3.5 assist a game.

If Hickey plays the same next season and if he starts, we will struggle like we did this season. You cant have to ball in the hands of a point guard at the end of games or at key points in a game who cant score from the outside, penetrate, or shoot free throws.

Mickey really needs to come back. He needs atleast another year in the weightroom and improving his jumpshot and all around game away from the basket.

I wouldn't say sure gone, but very, very likely. Expect an announcement this week.

What about Bridgewater? At 6'6 230lb seems like he could push for time huh? Or is his game not there?

Mickey clearly isn't a first rounder in a loaded draft. He is still not strong enough to bang in the nba. He also started to fade some as the season went on. Another year on the weights and he will be much better
