but after starting for a yr and a half (JJ) he should be farther along than he is just be experience.

you exagerated his playing time but i get your point. however, if JJ had the TU offensive line, he'd be better than he is and therefore "further along" as you call it. i don't think JJ is as good as gilbert is going to be, but if JJ had performed like gilbert did last night, he's be lambasted. other than a few plays where he got away with staring down his favorite receiver, he pretty much looked like shite. on the pass plays he looked good on, he had a lot of time to throw the ball and the receiver was wide open. all he could do was find that one receiver, he didn't even try to find another one. did you see how many passes were blocked at the LOS and how many interceptions he threw?

If anyone here thinks Jefferson is the same QB from Washington to Penn State you're fooling yourself

Didn't Jarrett Lee throw seven touchdowns to the defense in '08? In less games?

we have got to get past this. it's a moot point now, as their W-L numbers are not very different (JJ/JL). Lee has 4 losses as a starter (georgia, florida, bama, ole miss last year), and Jefferson has 5 as a starter (arkansas last year, then florida, bama, ole miss, penn st this year). just to clear that up that the "JJ wins games" argument is no longer relevant

i just don't see enough leadership in JJ.

he is 19 yr/o

as fans we obviously don't see everything, and the players may like him.

it was spelled out in August that JJ won the job and took ownership of the position. That means that the other offensive players got behind him.

and that makes it okay that the offense has been slow and unorganized all year? i want to see him telling the players where to go and what to do if he's to be our quarterback

the kid last night was barely 18 and it took all of 1 1/2 hrs to get behind that kid...
excuse is old and doesnt work when you've started 15 games...

just b/c black was quoted in the paper by jj grabbing his facemask and getting in his arse doesnt mean shite...they never rallied behind him and they still arent sure who to follow cause there are no leaders..

I do believe he looked the safety off that play...

I assume you're talking about the TD to Shipley on Robby Green ... if so, negative soldier. Green bit hard on Shipley's stutter step.

JJ was surrounded by D-1 talent at Destrehan and they very wisely kept things simple and let their talent work.

Maybe their HS coach could come be our OC?

well it was only on damn game. JJ looked pretty good in one half of last years bowl game and lots of people here were ready to crown him the savior.

what Gilbert did was really impressive. but he also did most of it when saban did his typical thing and took his foot off the gas. then they went after him and made him look like a freshman.

maybe some. but it wasn't the same defense as normal. i take that back, it was the same defense as normal when saban has a lead.
