He looked pretty good against Auburn, Alabama before he went down and Arkansas at times. While I agree he HAS to show it on a consistent basis, I think the tools are there for him to be one of the top QBs in the league next year.
BTW, if JJ does light it up this fall there's some posters on this board that will have a healthy dose of crow to eat. Yeah, I'm looking at you Tigerfan5555.

Mighty YAT! my buddy!, how's it hangin?...or is it just sittin short there on the balls with no place to go? lol

yeah, im sure yall are just drooling at the mouth hoping that guy is gonna be average...I'm sure he's gonna make some plays, no doubt, he is an athlete....But he'll never be Jamarcus Russell or Matt Stafford material as yall claim he will become...I just hope he's comparable to Rohan...

and its 5 5's...not 4 get that shite right...

Comeon guys, give the kid a break. Yea it's early, but what most of yall don't realize is many of the players read the rant...I guarantee some of this crap gets back to him

Don't you want to build him up not break him down. So let's quit with the laughing at him and saying he sucks, and just support him. I guarantee JJ will be better, but either way you gotta remember, he is still a human who has feelings and a mind. The more supportive you are, the more he will believe in himself and the team. That being said, let's try to keep the bashing to a minimum and overall hope for the best and say a big... !!!

I heard the same exact thing second hand from a staff member. It was just concerning a different QB. Actually didn't hear anything outstanding in regards to JJ.

Thing is, this staff could hold a press conference to announce such a happening, and it still would mean absolutely nothing.

It's been a while old friend. Good to see you're still hanging around. FWIW, we don't need JJ to be Jamarcus or Stafford. If the o-line improves and we actually have a running game to lean on when we have to, I believe JJ possesses all the tools necessary to be an above average SEC QB. Everything I've heard so far is that he's putting in the extra work. He's watching film, a lot of film. Ensminger and Gonzales are getting him to release the ball quicker and with confidence. All bets are off until he does it for real in September but you have to admit that the kid is busting his arse right now.

I hear this alot pertaining to a number a players names. I think we take this "figure of speech" too lightly many times. I takes one hell of a player to be above average at ANY position in the SEC, much less QB.

Being just close to "average" would be great for him. Because as far as production at qb, average in teh SEC is reall good. But I'll take a Mauck or Flynn with a title ANY year! I think we could assume they were both average as far as qb stats go.

We hear the same thing every year. Talk is cheap.

Hell, for that matter, Jarrett Lee looks to be having a good spring as well.

Same thing is said every spring. Just show up and go to work, no more talk.

He apparently is having an amazing spring and is understanding the playbook and the offense better than he did last year.

Any thoughts?

Play a different song. I heard that one last year.

This year's bigger and tougher OL will be the biggest difference in JJ's confidence...watch, the running game will be better and this will keep defenses more honest.

yea, and i'm getting so good at Madden '10 that i'm gonna be able to compete in the championship playoff on ESPN next year...

WHO CARES, we are 2 weeks in and people are trying to analyze every single event and player. Let them get to the end of spring practice and into summer ball before we start getting too out of wack on this crap. (at least wait until everyone sees the spring game)

I understand the sports world is slow right now but this is just annoying that every other thread on here is about who is doing well and who is fricking up...

Calm down, all he's saying is that JJ has been here for 3 years now. It doesn't matter what his age is, 3 years of college is 3 years of college.
Who cares if his birthday is late in the year? It has no bearing on your ability to learn.
