I honestly think he spouts off the "great" stuff as a way not to get down on himself (or sometimes his teammates). Dude said Lee played great after the 1st Bama game. srsly. I seent it. unrehearsed and with no hesitation.

I also heard him get down on himself in a game I thought he played well in (UNC). you'd have sworn we lost. weird cat, that JJJ.

Scouts for some reason still get hard for measurables

Welcome to the NFL draft. Coaches can't teach 6'5 with a strong arm and decent running ability. They can teach (or at least try to teach) a QB how to read defenses, check down throws, etc., etc.

I'm not saying that JJ will (or should) get drafted, but the NFL places much more emphasis on a guy's natural physical ability, relative to his performance as a college player. Otherwise, the Danny Wurfel's and Timmy Chang's of the world would be #1 picks. There's a reason why guys who have great speed and/or size get drafted even though their production in college was "ok" at best. Just becase they are drafted, doesn't mean they'll make a team.

. . .I need more than you in this thread.

The guy saying JJ had picks of NFL peeps was off to a good start, but he didn't follow through.

6/10 for both of you.

I'm trying to bait some of his proponents in The thing is, on the JL and JJ debate... I think they both blow/blew

I've always thought the same.

He's not very deft with handling the media, that's for certain.

Some may like to think it was racially motivated, when in fact it was motivated by his arrogance, demeanor, and lack of accountability.

Agreed...except for all those who felt the need to openly scream racial slurs at him both in the stadium and as the Tigers walked down Victory Hill prior to games. For those folks, I'd say race played an itty bitty part.

AGAIN if he ever starts a game at QB for an NFL franchise I will resign my posting rights here

Has ANYONE here even once suggested Jefferson will one day start an NFL game? Just wondering how far out on this limb you think you're climbing.

How about taking the same bet regarding if he gets drafted?

Teams waste picks on many bad players in hopes they can do something with them everyyear. He could get picked up in a late round as a just in case pick. Same could be said for Lee.

If JJ had ever put one ounce of blame on himself for screwing up and actually decided to try to lead the team in any of his years playing then I would say that he could be molded into an NFL QB based on raw ability. But teams will be making the same bet that Miles made thinking he could teach those qualities at LSU. its a failed project.

But to answer your question.. People on this board were claiming he was a possible 3rd round pick earlier this year. Thats a position in the draft where you are hoping for starters one day not throw away players.

I don't see why JJ has to prove anything to pro scouts. If they watched any of our games or heard any of his interviews they should know how good it is. There wasn't one game that he thought he played poorly. That was enough for his coach, and that should be enough for any pro scout. There was a rumor of LSU fans and JJ's facebook page following the BCSCG. I'm here to tell you that was agents almost knocking his door down to offer their services. I see it as a toss up between JJ, and Andrew Luck as the first qb taken in the draft. I almost wish he was a freshman again so I could watch his masterful performances for 4 more years, but I know he's ready to make some money now, and I wish all the best for him.

The Pro coaches could not believe what they saw in the NC game, so lets invite him and see if he is for real.......

Isn't it funny that the same people that cry "Stop with the JJ/JL threads, they're gone" now start them anytime something good for Jefferson happens?

Ya'll realize that this will only bring out the Jefferson hate? If you really want it to go away, you wouldn't post anything about either of them.

I'd love to read one of these posts. Despite the fact that I'm here quite often, I must have missed all of these.

I started this thread.

I never said, "Stop with the JJ/JL threads, they're gone."

I wished Lee well in his all-star game threads.

I wished Jefferson well in his all-star game threads.

There's nothing wrong with Jefferson of Lee threads. Not sure the same can be said for Jefferson or Lee haters.

He may get a chance somewhere, but not as QB.

Glad to see LSU players in the Combine!
