OMG You responded to me! Squeeeeeee!

I hope for your sake that LSU doesn't succeed under Johnny Jones--it could kill you. I don't know how guys like you survived that Brady Final Four.

no its called being rational instead of blind. The extremes on both sides are stupid he isn't going to fail for sure but he isn't going to bring us titles for sure.

its great he played and coached at LSU but his record at north texas is just meh. Its not negative to doubt if this is a great hire.

With this year and next year combined louisiana has 4 kids in the rivals top 100. If we can get Gathers this year and Bridgewater and Martin next year+Hammniks kids with what we have now we will have a want to be competitive relative to the schedule before us.

His record at unt is no longer relevant. What was miles' record at OSU. Let me guess, you have no idea. Know why? Cause it doesn't matter.

So, you joined to give us 400+ posts in a month rallying the troops behind Jones as BB coach. Just trying to figure out if you are an alter, family or a member of the CT mafia.

Rational is looking at the reason he got brought in. Louisiana recruiting ties. Louisiana had a slight drought for 2-3 years but its picking back up just in time for Jones. We will be more talented under Jones than we were this year and xs and os at worst is a wash (TJ was VERY overated in this aspect). Therefore at worst we are a true bubble team on a consistent basis under Jones.

Brother, nobody gives a crap if you or any other fans think this was a stupid hire. You're not important, and neither are they, and neither am I. Why not just be an LSU fan instead of let shite like this make you so negative (and yes, you're being negative)?

Johnny Jones will succeed at LSU, and you can't do anything about it.

agree, but the SEC now has 3 legit contenders vs just KY back in the day. Jones will more success than TJ in recruiting b/c he will play the dirty card just like everyone else, but he is not in the same league in terms of X's and O's as some of the other coaches in the SEC esp with Martin coming in.

Mizzou will be coming back to earth in the next couple years. Also Im not looking to dominate the SEC right away but if Jones can pull gathers and coleman or hammink I think that gets us minimum to 9-7 next year in the SEC. Hell we left a couple SEC wins on the table this year. That gets us in the tourney. I guarantee though that Jones will leave us in better hands than trent left us. At worst this is the Dinardo hire as opposed to the Curly hire (which was trent)

You make some rational points Adam. Its about getting into the field of 64 and like you said not trying to dominate the SEC.

Yes,because LSU has a recruiting budget comparable to UK and UF. North Trxas had a small budget and was surrounded by Big 12 schools. Other than Dale Brown, what other coach at LSU competed with Ky. Which coaches are out recruiting Ky now? JJ can upgrade the current talent level at LSU. Which big name coach wanted to come to LSU?

He will certainly out recruit his predicessor. This is a good hire not a grand slam like you guys wanted but given timing it is certainly nothing to be pissed about.

the truth....considering the timing JA got the best availiable. JOJO will win at LSU and the negatigers and clods who call him a "scrub" will again be proven to be the fools they are. seaux it geauxs.

How do you know they are better? Have you played for or coached with any of these guys? I know Martin brought in some one and done players.Did he win Big 12? Please give some examples of these Xs and Os that make them superior. What was your favorite in bounds play when you played? Can you describe Martin's or Cal's inbound defense? Please tell me how theirs are better than Jones' defense.

Yes,because LSU has a recruiting budget comparable to UK

I don't think we are spending the same amount of dollars as KY in basketball recruiting. We can b/c the Bank roll that Football provides. Ohio State and Florida mimicked that philosophy.

I don't mind the Jones hire. I question why Theus and Floyd weren't legitimate candidates for the job, but overall, I think this hire has the most upside of any hire we could have made.

I don't see anyway we don't lock the state up with a jones Livingston combination.

I only question his coaching ability but that's an extremely small part of the equation in cbk.

Can't blame JJ for that. Now answer the rest of my question.

If Jones was comparable to Martin, Cal or Billy, than other programs would have beat his door down to hire him. He is not comparable to these guys. That is like saying Ed Orgeron is comparable to Nick Saban

played Football, and baseball. but If i had to choose I would say a 23 stack if defenses were playing zone
