Go read the grand jury report and watch how quickly your opinion changes. Joe Pa was told a 10 year old was being raped in the shower. Raped at 10 by a grown man and close friend of Joe. Joe is a piece of shite

If you read the grand jury report you will also read about investigations into the alledged sexual attacks in the late 90s where nothing really came out of it.

There were dozens of people that could have stopped this guy from being around children 15 years ago.

Why did it take so long to finally bust this guy? This is a failure by everyone involved on protecting these children not just on Paterno's head.

Had the right things happened back when the first reports of Sandusky inappropriately touching these children the 2002 incicdent would have and should have never happened.

You really don't know how you will react if you walk into a situation like that. You might be so traumatized you can't react at all and just want to leave hoping what you saw wasn't really happening.

yes, this is true.
I guess just in hindsight everyone is guilty of inaction in this case and McQueary as much as anyone. He told his Dad! why he didn't call the police directly is beyond me!

I don't have that much of a problem with him telling his dad, but his Dad should have told him to call the police or called the police himself.

This is kind of what happens when you live in a place where Penn State football is everything and the last people you want involved in an incident at the university is the autorities.

I read that PA law just requires the witness to report to his superiors what he saw and the superiors carry the burden to report to the authorities.

This of course recognizes that there is a difference between a legal requirement and a moral one. As an adult, he absolutely should have reported it to the authorities instead of calling his daddy.

PSU did the right thing for sure. It's very sickening what happened.

Edit: The police should have been called immediately.

how is JoPas 33 yr assistant now the interim coach?
Same way this whole stinking mess festered for so many years; some will not acknowledge, some will not believe, some have the WANT to pretend everything is peachy, some will not, absolutely will not, see the obvious. That's probably how he's interim. Those making the decisions are refusing to connect all the dots.

I think there is more to come out and blackmail is underlying much of the silence.

I have none, personal conclusions. I think there are related and UNRELATED issues that people are protecting themselves from. Just how I see it, may be nothing but FAIL to my conclusions but I will not be surprised what follows. I think it is damage control right now, but not enough. They all need to go the program needs to reset.

I mean Trustees, the whole group.

60 yr old + 10 yr old + sexual act taking place YOUR school's shower area = the need for your stepping forward and not sneaking away.

There is no excuse for seeing a child being sexually abused and not stepping forward or at least calling the cops.

Sorry, tough position for the then grad coach to find himself in, but it wasn't anything as tough as what that 10 yr old was in. imo

Anyone seeing that act take place and not coming to that 10 yr old's aid...well, shame on him and I wouldn't want him any where around me.

this is a fricking shite storm, I think Penn State should fire the coaching staff in it's entirety. This is unprecedented.

If this situation is morally clouded for you or anyone as what the right thing to do is then God help the children.

You may be right or not on your suspicions, but in a mess like this is becoming, anything is surely possible. I hate this.

I am not a physician, but I think of this like Cancer. If it is in the toe, they take the foot, in the foot they take the leg below the knee, etc...

We don't know, so some of the good, maybe much of the good has to go too.

Does not matter what I or anyone would have done in that situation. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Not reporting a child molester to the police is criminal and wrong.

And I don't buy your stupid argument anyway. I am pretty sure I would have tried to beat the shite out of him right there in the shower.
