Did you not see how empty Tiger Stadium was last year? Wait until you see how many empty seats we have this year with the exception of Ole Miss and Bama.....Is that generating maximum revenue for the school?

Stadiums all over the country were full of empty seats this past season.

There was a comment made here that CLM, paraphrasing, would be happy to see JA go. Does anyone know how the coaches as a whole feel about him? CLM in particular? But as for all the knocks against J.Dean, he was the perfect puppet and had no real say so over any major decisions in the athletic dept. He was quoted several times, off the record, that he wanted to fire DiNardo the yr before but his hands were tied by the BOS & school president.

I just hope the LSU board doesn't pony up a raise that will mean higher ticket prices.

Do explain. Are you saying that Johnny Jones, Beth Torina and Nikki Caldwell are all bad hires?

Well lets not forget about the Trent Johnson hire. LSU basketball lost four years with this hire. Im not going to say we should not have hired Trent - it was a good hire at the time- just saying it turned out bad. Alleva is supposedly a basketball man from a basketball school. I'll ask you to tell us how we have done in basketball since he got here and if Joe did leave- could we do better?

The Johnson hire looks bad in retrospect. The hire was roundly praised at the time. Just wasn't a good fit at all, as we all saw.

Jones, I believe, will prove to be a great hire. He's building the program back from the ground up, as anyone who even kind of follows recruiting knows. Alleva also oversaw the construction of the new basketball practice facility. I'd say he's done a good job on the basketball front.

radakovich

I don't know that we'd want him, TBH. Would be a major downgrade. Not sure about Vincent, as he has a position in the SEC office apparently. I'm quite sure we'd be interested and that he would listen.

If I remember correctly, the general consensus was that he really wanted the AD spot.

Did Dan R. even get a call when we were looking for candicates to replace Skip? I seem to recall that LSU snubbed him, and that the AD search turned up several less than impressive candidates before Alleva was suddenly announced.

I've heard several of the coaches don't like JA. Even a few that he hired.

99% of the rant has no clue what Alleva does on a day to day basis.

You mean he's not napping when Slive asks if LSU would like more night games? Or when LSU has to play Georgia and Florida?

A new AD will not be able to do anything about that, because A) Television, and 2) The other 12 AD's dgaf about LSU having to play Florida every year. Don't get me wrong, we could probably do better if we got lucky with a replacement hire, but at least he hasn't screwed things up.

Trent was the Curly Hallman hire of basketball coaches, just like Hallman rode Favre to bigger and better things, Trent did the same with the Lopez twins.

Alleva started the job as LSU AD in 2008, the same year LSU broke ground on the new basketball practice facility so this project was well on its way before he got here. I guess he "oversaw" it but in reality he was not responsible for any of it.

Yeah, I just realized this after I dug a little deeper.

But either way, I think Jones will make us all forget about Trent in the very, very near future, if he hasn't already.

LSU needs to keep Joe Alleva. Anyone who thinks he hasnt done an excellent job here is totally misinformed.

Altho, i do hate to see now AD's trolling for more money, but hate the game.....

Can you better educate some people as to why you think he's done a great job?
