I know LSU will be fine without him. I also don't think this should end like Curley. Les will hopefully come to some agreement and Alleva should have a plan for a finale. Hell, name the athletic complex after him or indoor practice facility. The guy deserves more than a firing is all I'm saying. And I do want him gone.

People have been throwing out Gruden's name for a years and he's never seriously considered a college coaching job. He's not going to be a candidate.

i think that's probably what will happen. They'll cut him a check for a portion of his buyout, and he'll walk away 'on his own terms'

If he wants to do what is best for LSU then sure he doesn't deserve to be fired. I don't think Les wants to be publicly embarrassed. If he ever wants to coach again he takes the tubs/urbs rehab route with tv and doesn't say a word even if its a bitter split.

We might front load his buyout for a reduction, a simple pv calculation would produce something nice for both parties. It lets LSU look good with the media and lets Les come out clean as well instead of looking like damaged goods.

Maybe not for long. PHI is losing to TB right now and likely will miss the playoffs. $7mm is a lot of money and they could say no thanks to paying that much for another year of mediocrity. I'd fricking love Kelly at LSU. LSU is known for good D, you put that with a O guy like Chip and man that could be special.
