Wtf? LSU can't just forfeit a season for Miles. His "respect" came in the form of $$$, and his buyout is much larger than most. There's the fricking respect. By no means should LSU just go through the motions for a year and a half to make Les feel "respected" by other fan bases. You know he's not the first national championship coach to get fired in the SEC, right?

Nor is he the first national championship coach to get fired.

realistically? mullen or herman would be the top two we could probably get with mullen being the obvious choice. two former meyer OCs, but one with more experience as a head coach, mullen is only a few years older than herman.

Fedora and Mora are probably more realistic than Dabo. They are both more established than Herman. They have both been successful at programs coming off tough times, so I think they deserve as much, if not more consideration than Mullen.

I wish we could get John Harbaugh. Les Miles to Michigan. Everyone happy.

Freaking love Gruden but ESPN is paying him 6.5 million a year. Not a realistic candidate. With that said I don't see why LSU can't target anyone they want. Look what Michigan did with Harbaugh. LSU has funds to attract an elite coach if we really are serious about wanting to be the premiere program in the country

I don't really understand the Griden love anyway.

He hasn't coached in several years. Is a minor celebrity.

The love he gets here reminds me of the love Ditka got from saints fans.

How did that work out?

Gruden!

No. He was a pro coach who hasn't coached in college since 1991. Pro football and college football are two different situations. I wish everyone would realize this. Do you want to play an annual game of "will he leave for (insert NFL job here)?"

those are good candidates. especially fedora. i'd prefer him over mora, he seems to have a few games a year where his guys just play like shite and lose to less talented teams. like, every damn year.

I'd be happy with Fedora. I don't want Mora anywhere near LSU. He's a prick and it's not as if he's stacking up Pac-12 titles or major bowl berths at UCLA.

Would be incredibly foolish on LSU's part to do it now.

and it is apparent that the foundation wants the hire to be an established coach, not a rising star in the coaching ranks.

That's an important point. Anything less would be a gamble I wouldn't want them to take.

On that note, they're going to have their guy in mind and look for things to start happening with the hire after Bowl season.

no matter if we keep miles or can him, this fanbase is going to continue to be split...feel sorry for the next coach whenever Miles does leave...posimiles are going to let him have it

It better not be after fricking bowl season. I think you meant regular season.

If you're LSU, you want the hire to happen as soon as possible. You may let the hire stay on with his current school for their bowl (if he and they want), but for recruiting purposes you don't want to be coachless for all of December and half of January.
