Purple jerseys in non-conf games at home, NCAA rule. NCAA only made the exception to wear white with SEC teams if visiting team concedes.

Nope....i.e. LSU vs Va. Tech, LSU vs Arizona.
Saban created the tradition of wearing purple for every non-conf home game that isn't the first game of the season.
This has been in place since 2000.

LSU should replace the horrid purple jersey-gold pants with the purple jersey-white pants OR gold jersey-white pants.

You know I really wouldn't mind seeing the gold jersey. When's the last time we wore gold, like '98 or something? And it had those gay shadow numbers.

I think it's just what we're used to seeing. Lutcher has worn the purple jersey/gold pants combo for years and they look just fine - probably because we're used to seeing them. (and they don't seem to bring any "bad luck" at all).
