He had an 18 on his ACT. Can you enroll at OM and walk on? Make grades in 1st semester, re-take ACT, get in OM ? 5 yrs to play 4 ?

I don't know, I'm not worried abourt him playing for UM, but he signed a LOI to LSU. Normally you have to get a release and sit out a year, in his case I don't know??

MGCCC has a great football program and would have been good for him on the field. Off the field they don't do such a great job.

Why didn't he go to Summer School at John Curtis? Worked for Lacey.

Bolden took his spot. He will be 300 lbs by the time he qualifies. He would have been better off at JC

why would we even want this guy? It really makes no sense to me. Athletic skill is abundant - we need a quick thinking academic QB

Yep. Why would we even recruit kids that can not qualify?

Per LSU.edu, an out of state student must have a 3.0 core gpa or a 25 ACT/1130 SAT.

I'm sorry but there is no way that 75% of the student athletes from out of state meet this requirement.

You're missing a key word, that is for students, not student athletes. The bar is lower for athletes at all universities.

Somebody else said that he reported for junior college practice at 296 lb's. Sounds like he's been working his arse off.

the comments in this thread about this kid's intelligence are just sad...where are the lines drawn when we can't make fun of a head coach who makes millions of dollars a year but it's ok to beat up a 17 yr old kid who has educational challenges?

spot on. it amazes me how few people actually know this. i love it when a&m fans use this as an excuse for being mediocre when we fight for the same players.

He's trying to greyshirt. Your eligibility clock doesn't start until you enroll and attend classes full time. A greyshirt can enroll part time, but he can't be involved with the team. A greyshirt who enrolls in the spring, would have 5 to play 4.

"the high schools" do not mess these kids up ! That thought process defines EVERYTHING that is wrong with our educational system ! IT IS NOT THE SCHOOLS OR TEACHERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's totally irresponsible PARENTS and/or lazy/belligerant students !
EACH person must take ALL responsibility for their own actions or inactions...that's the way the world works !

The word is that if he sits out this semester and makes the needed ACT score we told him he can walk-on in January.

Don't know if that's 100% accurate because of his LOI to LSU but that's what's being said.

As we all know, more will come out.

I'd much rather him sit the semester out and focus on his education even if LSU doesn't get him in uniform.

Haven't read much of this thread and don't know if he's really thinking about going to Ole Miss...But, if he does go to Ole Miss, does he realize that he's not gonna win very many games?

Absolutely. He's hoping to win 3-4 games in his career should he decide to come here.

Several talking heads had him reporting at MGCCC at 298 lbs.By not attending any school, not working out in any structured program, he'll balloon to way over 300 by next Spring. For an image of that, go look at pics of Jamarcus last fall. He's a gone pecan as far as playing QB & possibly football in general. A sad story.
