I assume this will get whacked as well, but really wanted to reply to the DVH lovers.

GA Tiger asked

quote:

How is he just as proven; cause he won one Natty with primarily another Coach’s players?

How about he's played for more Natties than DVH while being at 2 different schools and he is 17 years younger.

BTW, I think Jay had to go through SEC teams both times at Arizona to make the CWS.

What if I told you DVH finished 7th in the SEC West within the past decade? And that not only did they only win 7 SEC games they actually finished with a losing overall record.

Jay Johnson has been to Omaha 3 times in the past 10 years. I believe DVH has been 4 times. And Jay took over an LSU team team without a starting ace pitcher and still won like 40 games while going 17-13 in conference.

Arkansas would gladly trade baseball history with LSU.

I can't believe some people would rather be more consistent will less championships, but here we are.

DVH in his entire 34 year career has played for one championship. Jay has already exceeded him.

I can't believe we are to the point where LSU fans would rather be more consistent without the championships, but here we are. Y'all really can't handle one down season.

He’s baseball version of Mark Richt.

Like many politicians you are pulling info out of context. I’m not suggesting DVH is better or that I would be happy with consistency over championships. I’m saying Arkansas has been pretty good in past years and wondered what their secret was. Have they dropped off the cliff like LSU has this year?

If you're going to include all the years DVH was a head coach, you should include the D2 national championship he won at Central Missouri.

That means he's played for 2 "natties."

I think DVH is a piece of shite and tampers more than any coach in baseball and also woodchippers relief arms every year.

But facts are facts.

It all makes sense when you consider the fact that most (not all) LSU fans are really, REALLY dumb and never played baseball after coach pitch. Saban called them the “catastrophe syndrome “ people.

Yet have they won a title? Win a lot of regular season games and choke in the post season.

Some of y’all don’t want to hear this but baseball is a relatively simple game and success is based 90% on talent. Y’all gave Jay WAY to much credit for the success of last years team and y’all are giving him way to much criticism for these players sucking. Yes he has to recruit and develop players for us to win but the LSU program is the most dominant program in the country and will succeed as long as we have a half decent coach. Going forward Jay needs to build a solid foundation of LA players and use NIL to buy the missing pieces. He also needs to stop buying into his own hype and overthinking every damn decision on the field. If he gets out of his own way he’ll be fine. If he has another year like this he’s gone. Simple as that.

We didn’t succeed with smoke, CPM won one title and played for another.
Since 2001-2021 we won 1 title and played for another. So it’s not that easy….

Arkansas and Texas am both suck. Their head coaches are choke artists. Is what it is. DVH will inevitably throw somebody's arm off (Hagen smith) in the not too distant future

It’s as dumb as when fans were comparing will Wade to Kim mulkey. They are nearly two decades apart. It’s not even a legitimate comparison.

Since 2009 we’ve won 2 played for 3. So that’s a championship appearance every 4-5 years. See I can play with numbers too. No winning a championship is not easy. But if you have two shitty seasons in a row your seat is going to get hot in Baton Rouge. That’s just the nature of the beast. Lemonis’ seat was getting hot in Starkville and he’s the best coach they’ve ever had lol

Tell me about how Mainieri's recruitment of Paul Skenes and Tommy White went.

And Nate Ackenhausen, and Riley Cooper.

I took the last 20 years before Jay got here, you cherry picked it. Skip over the 9 years between titles 2000 to 2009. And no. Jay will not be on the hot seat. Are you actively rooting for him to be fired because a bad year after a title and negative already about next year?
Using State as a point is pretty foolish and the best coach was Polk.

Nature of the beast huh….. you think anyone can walk in here and win titles? It’s that easy?
