I think this is more about what we don't have then what the other teams do have. We just don't have a clear cut 3rd starter. I'm sure
PM would love to save poche if he could but this team just doesn't have that luxury.

Or that the Utah team isn't that bad of a team. We've been shut down by smaller teams before this season.

makes sense going into Supers to keep a regular schedule

win the first two and we should be fine to win one of the last two

It's a combination of Poche being a veteran and that this is not a particularly dominant LSU team that can steamroll anyone regardless of who we put out there on the mound.

I dont see the need to announce a roatation at all. Play it by ear with the weather, if valleys lineup is full of lefies throw a combo of latz and valek

I'd be willing to bet Gilbert would start game 3. Just a hunch from what PM has said over the past couple weeks.

PM gave up on Valek. Poche struggled almost as much as Valek, but once PM gave up on Valek we haven't seen him except for his good performance at Notre Dame. Didn't even get Valek on the mound in the SECT.

This list of "possibilities" is extensive looking at pitchers who could have had a shot if they worked out...

Marshall
Godfrey
Latz
Bain
Norman
Valek
Smith
Gilbert
Cartwright
McKay

Poche may be the best suited to handle a rain delay and probably has the most experience pitching in the rain. Guys who smoke the ball get warmed up and fire aren't as likely to come back from a delay.

Cartwright is injuried

And why list players who are not on the team?

I realize what the list is... Guys who, at one time or another, were thought to be or given the opportunity to be a weekend starter. Whether they left, got injured, or just didn't work out... All of them could have been our set 3rd starter. Just thought it was an interesting list.

Maybe not, but we have Smith and Gilbert, both have had solid starts lately. It's not like we don't have a 3rd starter.

We didn't have a set 3 last year and it hurt... and we won't have one this year. Got me thinking what could have been and who it could have been. Not really making a specific point.

If Poche comes back for some reason and Latz continues to improve and get healthier, it'll be a sick 1-3.

No clear cut third guy, but I'm really happy with the improvement of some of the guys to really step in for a few innings.

Even though we don't have a set guy, we are in a much better place pitching-wise than we were last year, no doubt.
