What type of thrower is he?

Fastball over 90?
Chanegup?

We struggle with guys who throw offspeed pitches most of the time.

Yep traditionally we have always hit the big flame throwing righties. It's the rag arm junk throwers who have always given us fits!

Rasmussen was taken with pick 31 in the MLB draft. He was slated as their Friday guy before being injured. That's all I can tell you.

Tough. I was hoping Jake would still be sore or something...but it was always unlikely.

I have that same feeling. Can't back it up and I can't make my case logically. But I feel it too.

Something special is about to take place over the next few days.

This is gonna be the most ridiculously impossible , illogical , irrational title run we have ever had...we are witnessing one for the ages !

He certainly seems to fit the definition of an Ace, especially when looking at his stats compared to the Tigers Ace:

Jake Thompson stats: 14-0 (19 starts) with a 1.84 ERA, 39 walks in 122 innings, 26 total runs (25 earned) and 114 strike outs

Alex Lange stats: 9-5 (18 starts) with a 3.08 ERA, 44 walks in 117 innings, 42 total runs (40 earned) and 142 strike outs

Hopefully Thompsons stats are due to less than stellar competition because our bats have been awfully quiet here in Omaha and this does not appear to be a pitcher that allows a team to get into a groove offensively or that will give you anything easy.

I like the Tigers in this game but they will literally need to pull a rabbit out of the hat for the next 3 maybe 4 after this one. It's going to be a tough go. Offense has to stay hot and the defense will need to play stellar. If we had Walker we would have probably won this thing. I bet Manerie is kicking himself for throwing walker so hard in the inner squad game. I would be.
