By the way, what site do you use for historical individual stat rankings?

All I have for stuff that old is reading bios and articles about the players various places. unfortunately college baseball isn't a sport that keeps a database like that i can find for stats that old. boydsworld and warrennolan are good resources for current stats

That's a shame. Wouldn't it be great to go see what Ryan McGuire did that was so great in 1993 that made him an All-American, then slide right down to Mark Loretta, Jason Varitek, and Brooks Kieschnick?

There is a lot of raw data that can be searched on Boyds World. I think you can find individual players.
LINK

The hitting and pitching stats databases are pretty good for what you're looking for.

Yeah, the only problem is that you have to remember everyone who was awesome in 1993 and 1997. It'd be better if there was a list to start from.

You could check baseball-reference.com and look at individual years drafts by round. That still only gets you part of the way there though.

It's a lot of leg work, stuff I actually enjoy doing sometimes. But yeah, it would be nice for it to all be in one place.

ETA: I really like looking at the old conference standings links on boyds world to see who was in what conferences and when.

.395, 22 HR, 102 RBI in 1993 (Walker) is more impressive than .381, 40 HR, 118 RBI in 1997 (Larson)

Walker was phenomenal, no doubt about it. But to say that no one is even close to TW as tGOAT, like ell did, is overlooking another Tiger All-American, IMO.

Eddy Furniss in 1998 was legendary.

AVG .403

2B 27

HR 28

RBI 80

SLG .898

OPS 1.443

Furniss - 1998

AVG + SLG + OBA = .403+.898+.545 = 1.846

Walker - 1993

AVG + SLG + OBA = .395+.775+.491 = 1.649

Furniss is the only positional player IMo that can even challenge walker's career. And Furniss' 19996 season was arguably more impressive than his 1998 season. Had he not shite himself in Omaha in 1996, he'd have batted .400 then too
