Thankfully, some of us are mature enough to find importance in respect and dignity.

Im very sorry the American dream has become what it has. Do what you gotta do to win or succeed.

Coaches are leaders of men. They are a huge influence in the lives of their student athletes, but also a megaphone in the media. People look to them and admire them. Like it or not they are role models by default.

So if youre okay with someone being a complete arse who disrespects anyone because he is a "winner", then good luck raising your family. Youre kids will be a bunch of douche bags and your son will be a pothead like Sabans, and your daughter will be a fighting sorority delinquent like Sabans.

As long as you shite on a golden toilet seat, who cares who has to wipe your arse for you, right?

Wow.

Saban is a good coach but seems like an a$$hole. I'm glad we now have Miles.

Miles has won more than any coach in last decade

He's 5-5 vs bama bout to be 6-5

Done much better than sociopath Sabin at lsu
Only reason Sabin won 2 of his NCs at bama was sec officials
2009 and 2011 jokes

Its just befuddling why a fan cares about the personality of a coach.

Great coach but arrogant, condescending, and simply uncaring. He is a true self centered P with E. I can't imagine simply hanging out with someone like that

You'd never have to hang out with him.

As an alumnus, I want those who represent my Alma Mater in the public eye to be respected for their abilities as a leader. Which includes their personality and engagement with those around them.

As an alumnus, the football coach's personality does not matter as much as the results. Running a dirty program is one thing but mere personality doesn't matter.

Why do fans care if the coach is an a-hole or not? Winning games/championships is all that really matters. Everything else is just noise.

The regular season ticket fan base and all those others that are in Tiger Stadium for every home game, want the Championships. Could care less if the Head Coach is a "Nice Guy" or not. The only people that "prefer" the nice guy are message board Sunshine Pumper types.

BTW, where are all the SP's? Never actually met a SP either before the game on campus, in Tiger Stadium or afterwards around town. They apparently only exist on-line. Not out in the real world. All the real flesh and blood Terran's don't want nice. They want Championships..........

Saban is as respected as Miles in the aspects of a leader. Whatever that even means.

It matters. If people didn't like working with Miles and we had a constant musical chairs with coordinators as a result, we would be a worse football team. If Miles didn't have the personality that gets the most out of people, we'd be a worse football team. If parents and recruits didn't like the guy, we'd have a worse football team. There are people who give money to LSU who can find other things to do with it. A decent guy being the head coach can make a difference there as well.

Saban makes up for not being a nice guy in other areas, but it still goes in the negative column for him.

Paterno says to Saban loud enough for quite a few people to hear, "Do you try to be an a-hole?"

Haha, I hope that story is true. I could see Paterno saying that.

That doesn't make any sense. I can see maybe people thinking they could still make a play for Saban in 2007 if Miles were to leave, but I don't see a way they would have pushed Miles out when he was 22-4 in two seasons.

By the way, I do know of some crazy Saban supporters, but as far as anything actually happening, I think it was almost all fantasies of people with delusions of grandeur and too much time on their hands. Skip Bertman was the AD at the time. I can guarantee you he dgaf about those people.
