Hopefully Stevens is physical and athletic, something we have sorely lacked since Landry graduated

I haven't seen him play since the AA game, but he already looked like an SEC player then.

Anyone who questions this move, if in fact this is happening, needs to go watch his senior year film.

The guy is an insane athlete. He has unbelievable acceleration and change of direction for a guy any size, and he has great hands and vision.

This might be one of the best moves since telling Devin White to stick with defense.

Lmao... Have you ever seen the guy play the position? I have and against great competition, he's going to be a helleva WR and I said this a while back, check my post history lol. He looks like a big WR playing safety. Which I was ok with but now that O knows we are deep enough at safety I really like this move.

He's physical and will be a real RZ threat, go to WR on 3rd downs as well. This takes us from a 2/3 WR threat set to a 3/4 WR threat set, real threats. Going to be good boys and gals. These coaches want to win this shite NOW!

It may be experimental, but I have no problem with it if he sticks at WR. Kid is possibly a better WR than Safety. Has physical ability to excel at either, but sometimes a guy has the mental make up that is better suited for offense over defense.

Not saying kid doesn't like to initiate contact, but I don't remember seeing a lot of that from HS from HS film. I saw more ball skills and play making...which is fine if that's what coaches want.

In short, WR may give him a better chance to get PT, and he may be better suited for it anyway. I trust the coach here.

I disagree. IMO he lacks a great speed. It doesent "jump out". The competition looks sub-par and he is barely blowing by guys

check for yourself

He seems like a John Diarse clone.

I think it's both Harris and Stevens. Stevens will play this year at WR and a key roll or he wouldn't have moved him. They see him as creating big matching problems for defense's because NO lb or CB is going to cover this young man. Too fast for a LB and too big/strong for most if not all CBs. He's really a great WR if you've paid attention to him.

At the same time Aranda really likes Harris and Delpit. I think Delpit and Harris complement each other and Harris is a natural safety. The fact that they made the move this early really gives me joy, well because it's a huge change from the last regime. They usually waited until it was too late for him to get the training needed to play the upcoming season. This is pretty darn decisive if you ask me. Love the move O

Lots of tape on him in HS, he played at all of the camps he went to, and the AA game. He can jump out the roof and he caught everything thrown his way.

Under Armour Practice Film

Jacoby's reps start at 1:03... Dude has the tools to play whatever he wants to. WR just might be the fastest route to seeing playing time.

Don't bother with Drake's father...he gets off on being anti.

Anybody who has followed Jacoby knows what kind of WR talent he is.

According to Orgeron in the press conference he is playing the F which is basically the H back and is coached by Ensminger. He is athletic enough to play there and appears to have good ball skills. He may be a matchup problem there.

He runs 4.4 40? That's lacking speed? He also gets to that speed quickly. His hands are not just decent but WR good hence why they moved him. He's tall, he's thick, and kinda plays like a fast TE out there. I have no idea what you've been watching but it's a little off.

You let him put on about 10 to 15 lbs and he's going to be extremly tough to stop. The guy can jump as well. All traits you would like on offense. He's naturally big so once in the weight room it will be much easier to gain weight then to keep it down. He will play a TEs/WR roll.

Exactly... I just think Aranda sees Delpit and Harris as the better options for him at safety. He's great there but they see him fitting the WR position early. We aren't exactly deep there and he probably gets us at a much more comfortable number. I never said he wasn't a great safety because he is and would certainly be a weapon there as well.

Do not like. Good DB's are more valuable than good WR's.
