He has put his pride before the best interests of the university and the young men he coaches. All he had to do was make an effort to revamp the offense and show the people that pay his salary that he is capable of adapting to today's game. If that would have been done and LSU still lost Saturday the backlash wouldn't be anything close to what it is now. This my friends is a character issue. He may be a nice guy and all but he sure is one selfish motherfricker.

I don't think so. He's in a bubble and really doesn't know how bad things can get. He actually believes the offense is fine, just a few problems with execution

Agreed.

His true character is being exposed.

When you shite the bed like he did Saturday, you accept it, resign, and let everyone move forward.

He doesnt know how to play any differently. He couldnt if he wanted to. He would have to bring in someone completely different to teach him.

The reason he brought in Cam was because he plays the same type of football as Les.

He thinks all our problems are execution based, but he isn't a disciplinarian perfectionist.

So we probably have both a scheme and execution problem.

Miles is not being selfish. He just doesn't know what to do. He might be selfish by remaining the coach, but would you give away $10M dollars, maybe more, if you were in his shoes? Would you give away $1K? Not likely.

Miles has been building his playbook for decades. It's all he knows.

Sure seems that way.

With that said, I believe Les did acknowledge the willingness to alter the Offense at the end of last season. He must have been keeping it under wraps against Wisconsin

I used to think so, but in all honesty, he's just not that bright.

I d bet season tickets he has a medical condition that's leading to memory loss. Ever since that over caffeinating bs last year, he has been even slower with his words and watching him on the sideline Saturday showed him even more lost than usual.

it really is quite amazing he can remain so loyal to his philosophy despite all of the evidence.

I don't think it is him being selfish as much as it is his inability to change his philosophy either because he does not know another way and/or unwillingness to give up that control. It is the old Schembechler system that the captain is in charge, including manning the helm of the ship. Either way, his great strength as a recruiter is wholly eclipsed by his game preparation and in game management.
