Can you point out the carries where he should have gotten more yards?

That's precisely my point. A great back can turn a standard carry into something better, sometimes much, much better.

If the Oline is opening gaping holes, then hell, I can run through it and gain 8 yards, so stats alone don't tell the whole story.

But if a back is "special", then that means a couple times a game turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. I hope it's coming, but I haven't seen that yet from LF.

I saw improvement this past game in that LF7 began lowering his shoulder and getting down field better, which is a VERY positive sign. But he hasn't quite reached his full potential yet. He still needs to learn when to juke and when to plow, he hasn't quite got this down. But like I said, definitely heading there!

Maybe... Haven't thought about that... If Harris starts loosening up the Defense, then LF might have some real lanes to run through... Great post.

Gurley's stats:

YEAR TEAM ATT YDS AVG LNG TD
2014
UGA
69attemps 610 yards 8.8 yards per carry

Todd Gurley is a Junior. He had 6.2 yards a carry getting his freshman year and 6 yards a carry his Sophomore year. Georgia also had a VERY good passing game those two years with an experienced QB.

How about we continue to watch LF develop? He's averaging 5.8 yards a carry with an offense that can barely throw a forward pass.

I think him and Harris explode this week. We turn the season around by beating Auburn on the road.

Not to be a dick but Alabamas running backs have played in one less game than LF7

still waiting, even though he's had plenty of chances, especially against 3 cupcakes at home. Waiting for a big "wow" moment. Haven't seen it.

I've read all your posts and unless the guy levitates while curing csncer, aids, and bringing peace to the middle East, you will still say he's meh.

I've seen him several times finding cutback lanes and getting 20, 30, 40 yards. I've seen him shake many defenders in the open fielx, just making them look silly. I've seen him run over, drag, and bounce through several guys.

He's good, and may yet turn into something special, but I see LF, Hilliard, and Williams as interchangeable at this point.

Interesting stat. I must have missed all the crow eating threads from posters guaranteeing we see this all night.

I'm aware, but look at the total carries brother, nearly identical.

Let the mouth breathers talk. He has a higher ypc than TJ yeldon.

You are dumber than a box of bricks. No RB besides Barry Sanders will do worth a flip behind a shite OL. Watch any of UGA's games this year and you can see that Gurley usually has no problems getting holes opened up and when he doesn't, it is a challenge and a half.

Several times he has went the the opposite way of where the play initially started, and has gotten long gains out of it. He is sick in the open field. You just have this ungodly pedestal you want to compare him to.

Did you not see the attempts, or are you being stupid on purpose?

I didn't think LF as a TF was gonna be the SEC's best back. There are too many grown men toting the ball in the sec for that. I'll take his 5.8 ypc. I think people forget how much an AVERAGE passing game will open up the run game. Teams have been 10 deep in the box against us and he still has a higher ypc than most sec starting rbs.

He has more yards than TJ yeldon on less attempts.

Wow. i've watched every game and not seen any of that.

I'm fully expecting for the remainder of his career to hear on the Rant that he's special and his performance is fantastic. Just Ranters wanting to justify their idolatry.

You haven't seen LF run over anyone? In the first game he returned a OK and just destroyed 3 Wisconsin players. I mean left them lying on the ground facedown. He was tackled 5 yards later by the 4th guy. He runs hard when he wants. He really is the total package.the ability to run by or through defenders and above average hands. He is a rb that doesn't need to come off the field on 3rd and long. Thats rare.

Yep, huh uh, same stuff you said since the season started. Seems more like you have some personal dislike of him. The blinders you have pretty hilarious. it reminds me of the Nebraska fans who really think Abdullah is better than Gurley. Or better yet, the Alabama fans that preached for two years straight, that Yeldon was better than Gurley.

Completely comical every time you post about him.
