really guys? i mean come on he had 4 attempts and made nothing of it, not saying hes bad but saying he looked like the starter is ridiculous...

on topic though.

I don't see it happening again, Lee is gonna throw pics, he likes to sling the ball so its inevitable... now the pick 6's that was an anomole. There were at least 4 of the 7 he threw where the defender went 50+ yards for a td and avoided multiple tackles... 2 happened on screen passes, one against Auburn was def happy feet by Lee . the one against Georgia IMO was a telegraphed play call. I mean lining up Quinn Johnson in the slot how does that not give it away.

So no I personally don't see it happening again.

please continue... so youre saying JL will still throw pick 6s bc hes did that his freshman year after being thrown in the fire but JJ has suddenly found a brain and learned that you cant take a sack everytime you drop back??

what im getting at is you cant say JL will repeat his mistakes and at the same time say that JJ wont repeat his.

Show me where I said he WILL. I stated there is a chance that he might have a repeat performance which is what the OP was asking. I gave you examples and if you disagree that there is not chance then feel free to state your side.

If you are talking about JL, he was a RS FR.

The question had nothing to do with JJ. Please state your case as to why JL MIGHT not repeat his performance from his RS Freshman year

My only problem is with the people who feel that JJ will improve, but J. Lee cannot improve. Both had very good potential, don't know about that anymore.

Which one is best for the program I don't know. You take your poison. Lee looks to have the better skills but hasn't shown a lot of it on the field. Will say that he has led some comebacks with his arm, which the other hasn't much. But JJ is the starter.

Both will be hampered by the same thing, the QB coach.

JL looked way better than JJ sans one pick 6....

He stepped up in the pocket, checked down when needed, and just stood in and made some plays.

Granted it was only the spring game.

I know why I never come over to this damn place. This thread is not intended to include JJ at all. The question asks if JL might have a repeat performance of 08. I was citing an example as to why is it possible. IDC how JJ did or who was better just answer the damn question.

Its possible, not likely. Its also possible he could develop a JJ like propensity to believe the first down marker is a stop sign and throw those three yard outs, not move the ball but avoid ints. You never know.

But until LSU gets a QB coach we will continue trashing the QB's.

He wouldn't throw many Pick 6's again because hopefully, he wouldn't have receivers throwing him under the bus like some guys I can think of.

I wanted Lee to bounce back and shove people's faces in it, but he looked like a beaten man last year. I seriously doubt he can ever be an effective QB at LSU - the psychological damage seems to great. His body language is awful and he just looks like a guy wiaiting for something bad to happen. I hope he can bounce back, I really like Lee, but I haven't seen any sign that he can get over the psychological hurdles.

i just dont think its "VERY" possible that JL could repeat that '08 performance. i just think the kid was in a f'up sitution (young, not ready, no defense behind him, and crowton callin plays). i was just using JJ as a reference to people who hate JL and are behind JJ. thats why i brought him up.

RS freshman= yes. played meaningful snaps= no

I think Lee is a mental deal, the 08 season screwed him up imo, I've heard stories that he would get booed walking into class. In gametime situations, he just has that deer in the headlights look. He is probably alot different in practice, but his confidence is very shaky. Just look at the La Tech game last season.

JJ is the starter, but hopefully Lee or Garrett are ready if called upon.

After watching the games he played in this year and the spring game....I would say it is pretty likely. JL is going to throw INTs, he is a gunslinger and that is just the type of quarter back he is. What happens when you throw INTs? The D has a chance to run it back. Granted 6 or 7 pick 6's most likely wont happen, but I say it is likely that at least 3 would happen.

He was a RS FR. I wouldnt really call him young, inexperienced maybe but he was "experienced" this year when he came in and we all saw how that worked out.

I don't think he could repeat those numbers, I think he could look below average though. I can see the same for JJ or Garrett or anyone else though. Its not the qbs I have a problem with...its the coaching

this, i would really like to see our offensive game plan be based on the strengths of our QBs instead of one that doesn't benefit either. I would really love some offensive adjustments as well
