I never heard an explanation on why Miss State. We're probably just trying to save money for stuff next year ;)

AbitaFan, you making the trip to the game from Bean Town? The wife and I are planning on it.

Sure am. Bringing a couple friends who are originally from Colorado to show them what LSU football is all about. At least as much as we can witness from Syracuse.

If I was a band member I'd be pissed if my one big away game was to Syracuse, NY

MSU game tickets are $50 or less. Alabama tickets are $100 each.

That's $20,000. And it's another 250 seats for season ticket holders.

Since this is the first year in a while that Alabama is away and we have no kickoff neutral-site game, Alabama may actually be that full-band trip.

Interesting. Y'all haven't brought your full band in a long time.

And yet Alabama sends its entire band to TS.

So does Auburn. So does Texas A+M.

On their last visits to Tiger Stadium, all three of them had much more creative and entertaining half-time shows than the rapidly declining GBFTL.

The entire program is going down quickly under "Marching Band Curley Hallman", whom is in WAY over his head.

Everybody is noticing it. (Not just Band people either)..................

We're actually pretty excited. Band trips are more about the experience and having the opportunity to go to places we normally wouldn't.

I agree that the GBFTL isn't as good as they used to be, both in terms of sound quality and the originality of their halftime shows. That said, all A&M's band does is play military music and perform precision marching drills (i.e. march in a big square). I wouldn't call that very entertaining. Bama's band is big and loud, but actually not very good. Of the three you mentioned, Auburn's band is the best by far. They're much better than LSU's band, and the credit for that goes to their director who is an LSU alum. We need to kick Roy King to the curb and go after Corey Spurlin.

losing Neck was a big blow to the band and atmosphere but it's not rocket science to just remove the pause that lets STTDB sneak it - play over it!

Aggie band has done the exact same halftime show 50 years in a row and they have it down now

Ark and Miss St have the most dull bands because they have the worst fight song(s) and Ole Miss losing Dixie makes them just another bland band

That's what I told a friend from NYC.

We were at the Baseball Tavern last night. Pretty cool spot. I look forward to taking in a few games there.

I believe the GBFTL is actually better than it has ever been! From looking at your other posts, LouisianaLonghorn, it seems that you are quite an expert at all the sports at LSU and now an authority on the Band? Wow! You should work for Athletics! LMAO!

I have a kid at LSU and one at Bama, trust me they have way more
Money and nicer facilities not surprised. But am I crazy? I though when I was at LSU in the late 80's the whole band went to way more away games. But maybe I'm confused
