Is Stephen Sullivan a LB prospect?

When he was recruited he discussed the possibility of becoming a DE. He indicated he would do whatever the team needed him to do. He has the size 6'6" and as a wide receiver, the speed. He could probably easily add 10-16 lbs to his listed weight of 228. When recruited there was talk that he was an excellent DE.

I don't know of any 6'6 LBers in CFB. He should be used like Evan Engram from Ole Miss as a jumbo WR.

I'm sure there is one.

I think he means the OLB/rush role that Key plays right now

Ted "The Stork" Hendricks was like 6'8"!

So, a DE?
We have plenty of pass rushers, it's ILB we need. The tallest MLB in the NFL is 6'4 btw. I think his skills are better used on offense.

Is this similar to Trindon Holliday being a DE prospect?

Sullivan is going to a monster in the red zone

Ahhhh Ted Hendricks...the last of the true Raiders and one of the best clothes line specialists next to Deacon Jones
Good memories

We wanted him to play de but he just wasn't a de. He was not a very good de and he didn't wanna play there.

We have like 3 6'6 OLB on roster

First off Sullivan seemed to be behind Dupree, Chark, Dillon, Anderson, Gage, Davis and Ferguson on the depth chart. Secondly, which is more important to a team. a top notch pass rushing LB/DE or a top notch WR? Sullivan didn't seem to make the splash at WR as did the other freshmen.
SBNation: "Do the tallest linebackers make the best NFL teams?"
If you watch the NFL, there's a good chance you've played one of the Madden video games at some point. And if you've played one of the Madden games, there's a very good chance you've had the experience of a linebacker leaping out of nowhere to intercept a pass. You may think it's unfair, but the reality is this: the best teams have the tallest linebackers specifically to make those plays. So this week's Absurd Power Rankings acknowledge that and determine which teams have the greatest linebackers by height.
(The following heights and positions are all taken from team sites directly. Franchises with multiple tallest linebackers are ranked higher than those with only one of the same height.)
1. Green Bay. Julius Peppers, 6'7
2. New York Jets. Quinton Coples, 6'6
3. Minnesota. Anthony Barr and Audie Cole, 6'5
4 (tie). Miami. Chris McCain, 6'5
Philadelphia. Bryan Braman, 6'5
Washington. Trent Murphy, 6'5
Arizona. Matt Shaughnessy, 6'5
San Francisco. Aaron Lynch, 6'5
Atlanta. Tyler Starr, 6'5
For those who claim a 6'6" guy can't play LB, wake the F up!
OLB No. 49 Arden Key 6-6, 238, SO
OLB No. 46 Tashawn Bower 6-5, 253, SR
And as far as ILB, why not if he has the thump, size, agility and speed. Remember before Magic Johnson, there were no 6'9" 260 lb point guards in the NBA either.

Hard to tell what a guy can/will do until given sufficient live action to prove himself on this level...is he fast enough? Can he get separation? How's his route running? Can he take a hit and keep on ticking?

Was a hell of a DE in high school.

The rush OLB is just a DE who stands up. I'm talking about a true LB not an Arden Key/hybrid type. Sullivan is better suited to play offense, period.

Coach wanted him to commit as a DE...kid didn't want it...at least, that's my memory

That is just not true. Sullivan was signed as a WR. He has never taken a snap at DE Because of his size and play at DE in high school, during recruitment he was asked whether he would consider DE in college. He started he would do whatever the team needs. Obviously if he will be used and have an impact as a WR, keep him there. But the thought of another Key at LB/DE with Sullivan's speed and agility is enticing.

Dude was a talented WR prospect coming out of HS and I look for him to have an impact next season. Him and Drake Davis should really come on next season, two huge talented targets along with Dee Anderson and Jazz Ferguson.
