LSU would not do that now. I think maybe in the old days of the 4 man rotation in the pros. But not with our current pitching coach. I think they did a one inning close on Friday with a start on Sunday a few years ago and got blasted by the national media.

Arkansas won. I'd say save Nola or put a pitch count on him tomorrow, so that you can use him again on Sunday.

Pitch Bouman tomorrow!! Save Nola for the single elimination game Saturday.
We will be facing Arkansas's third starter and their hitting is not good.
Throw Bouman and the bench tomorrow. Nola Saturday and Poche again Sunday.

If we beat Arky tomorrow our next game is our Sunday starter, backed by a completely rested bullpen, against some middle reliever and an exhausted Johnny Wholestaff that's muscled through three or four games. Hell yes you pitch NOLA. Even if you weren't worried about the regionals you'd pitch him.

Although this isn't a bad suggestion, I'm pretty confident CPM will stick to the plan and pitch Nola tomorrow knowing a W cements a regional host and allows Nola extra rest in advance of a Sat. regional start.
We will piece the SEC tourney together as the NCAAs is much more important!

Gotta go Nola tomorrow. In my mind, the win cements hosting a regional. At this point, hosting is the immediate goal, and Nola is the best chance of reaching it.

It depends who you get paired with, losing the first game of a regional is a death sentence. There are some pretty stout 3 seeds in the tourney who would throw their Ace v us.
Obviously as a host you get a auto bid team or some crap and you can start whomever.
