I agree in pitching Nola.

But I'm not as confident as y'all about hosting. I just don't have it in me to put any faith in the committee to do the "right" thing. I think we have to make it to Sunday to host. I said that after Bama. Sweep Auburn and make it to Sunday. Just because we're playing so well doesn't change that in my mind. We're a little blinded by watching LSU and the SEC. The committee is looking everywhere. Of course, it does help when we blow out teams and get more coverage, but I'm not counting on that to sway anyone.

I feel you. My point was that it is definitely not a given.

Yup.

I think we can still make it to the championship game easily by starting Nola because Vandy and Ole miss will be depleted.

You have a point there. I just don't see 16 teams in the country better than LSU. Granted, there are some other factors.

Remember how we fricked around with that swac team and almost lost?

It would be dumb as shite to underestimate any team in the sec tourney. If we win tomorrow, we host a regional for sure.

Why not have someone on a short lease and replace with Nola if needed tomorrow?

Nola has done nothing but start and you want to bring him in relief tomorrow in a situation where we are losing????

not to mention arky is throwing Jalen Beeks tomorrow, he has 2.11 era and their bullpen isnt half bad either.

i think its best to do throw nola and trust our depth to carry us through.

I'm not opposed to letting Bouman pitch this game in an effort to save Nola for the chance to play for the conference title; however, using Nola as a relief pitcher is just dumb.

isn't Beeks Arky's injured ace who isn't pitching this week?

I really enjoy it when people act like they know what they're talking about.

It would be more in a long relief role, like coming in early in the 2nd/3rd inning.

Can it backfire? Sure, but if he enters the game early, anyone that starts in the game can be ready to roll on Saturday vs whoever and you're in the same position pitching-wise if we win.

It's an option on the table.

If Maineri thinks we have a legit shot as a top 8 seed, he may roll the dice and save Nola for Sat. If he wants to guarantee a regional bid, he will throw Nola tomorrow and hope he can piece together the pitching staff for Sat/Sun.

When is championship game? If Saturday, Nola can pitch 3-4 shutout innings. Hopefully we score 4-5 runs. Then have Nola start Saturday. Have a pitch count of maybe 55-60 both days.

Because we have the best pitcher in college baseball rested and ready to go.

Why even frick with this "short lease" you speak of?

I can see both sides of this --

A.)Pitch Nola tomorrow and win.

B.)Save Nola for another game.

But in all honesty..... you stick to your plan. You pitch to win.

That's what I expect PM to do --- pitch Nola as planned.
