Lost the most important historical game of his career that could have been won if the work had been put into play. too blase' and stubborn to be a top coach. Not fair to a talent laden team.

You do realize the 2011 Bama defense was prob the best sec def in modern history? Bama will prob have 4 first rounders drafted this year. That game was a culmination of playin a great opponent and horrible execution. Could've had better play calling late in te game when you realize running the ball wasn't working.

Nick Saban made Les Miles look like a complete chump, and showed exactly who was the better team and coach.

So you completely dismiss Miles' two wins in a row ( one at BDS)?

Anyone who watched this previous season (without the years before) would say no. Anyone who has kept up the last 6 years would say yes.

really? 13-0 with an SEC championship going into the NC game?

it was arguably his best season since he's been here.

Do you mean top 10 among current coaches? If so then definitely top 10, and in the top part of that 10 I'd say.

If you mean top 10 all time though, then I would need to shut up and mind my own business, because I wouldn't be qualified to try to rank the many historic greats.

I guess I'm being polled, and I'd like the record to state I believe Leslie Edwin Miles is a Top 3 FBS coach.

Actually of those three, only one coaches The LSU Fighting Tigers, leaving the other 2 with serious character flaws, so that leaves CLM alone at the Top.

1. Saban
2. meyer
3. les
4. brown
5. beamer

If u look at recruiting classes against results than beamer is by far the top coach. He competes year in and year out with mediocre recruiting classes making his development of talent off the charts.

Les should be in everyone's top 5 when the most important thing in college football is winning. He has outcoached saban enough times 2. He makes his share of blunders and is stubborn as hell but so is Saban. I really believe the only team that will be able to stop saban from winning it all every year is LSU until the next cam newton or tebow come around.

Yeah, I would assume active. Historically, that's some big company. Bama has a few canditates (Bryant for sure then Saban, Thomas, Wade), plus there's Neyland, Vaught, a few other in SEC. Outside of conference Wilkinson, Bowden, Paterno...
The only active coach that I would consider a candidate for top 10 historically would be Saban and as successful as he is I don't know, pretty iffy.

So basically results be damned, you don't think he's that great just cause?

I believe he piled up a lot of those results due to what he walked into. That's just what I believe though.
