Nick Saban made Les Miles look like a complete chump, and showed exactly who was the better team and coach.

So Saban was a chump from November 2010 through Jan 2012, since Miles was able to beat him not once, but twice with easily the worst starting QB Miles has had since he's been coach?

Is this correct?

So, the better "team and coach" lost two of the last three games, but were somehow still better?

Awesome logic.

Talent alone wins most of your games. It doesn't win national championships necessarily.

a 9-3 team that just lost to Iowa and had 13 players in the recruiting class because Saban screwed us over??

oh...and he took that same 9-3 team to the SEC championship the very next year during a very stressful season.

So Cheezit made Nicky look like what in 2010?
When that happened to CLM vs UTk, it was a coaching atrocity, yet Shorty gets a pass.

well is he?

he is not a good coach per se. he is a good general manager. fred wilson, chavis, and kragthorpe are a damn good staff. it's hard to argue with that.

NO! A top 10 coach would have realized Mett might have given them a shot against Bama in Champ. game.

Les is a top 10 recruiter. He is an above average coach. Recruiting in college is 80-90% of the game. As for Nick. He loss two close games due to some outstanding defensive plays. Bama could have won either of those games. LSU was beaten after the first offensive series

I love how certain fans try to point this out. "Oh, but LSU beat Bama 2x in a row, they even beat them at BDS. "Les Miles showed Saban up....blah, blah, blah!"

To answer the question yea, the better team and coach lost those games. Remind me again who won 2 out of the last 3 BCS games.

It made no difference that Les "Simple Jack" Miles beat Saban in the games you and others have referred to because who ended up taking home what's important.

Why are you looking at just the recruiting class? The roster was loaded.

I give him plenty of credit for the 2005 season as it was a very stressful time. The 2005 team again though was absolutely loaded, even with Saban "screwing" us over.

I believe plenty of coaches could have had a lot of success from 2005-2007. These were the most talented LSU teams in school history.

So because Saban won the Mulligan that only a few programs would be blessed with, he's the better coach despite losing the previous two?

Got it. Just making sure that was your logic.

Based on your "logic", shouldn't they have won at least..

Never mind. I'll quit.

No, he's a better coach, because he's a better coach. Provide me with evidence that proves otherwise.

Logic is that Alabama has been the better team the last 4 years regardless of the outcome of the game.

It's ironic, you of all posters calls someone ,"Simple Jack"! You re by far the dumbest poster on this site. Saban lost 3 games in 2010 with the 2011 defensive players , a heisman trophy winning rb, a first rd wr and a senior qb. Just go be a Bama fan and take Saban's balls out of your mouth.

The question I have is this: is the SEC harder or easier for Saban/Miles. I think that the SEC was far stronger back then although the strength was in the east. Seems liks just yesterday UGA, UT, UF, were all very good. Auburn was the real competition in the west. Miles has a brutal schedule. he has to beat Saban, Mullen, Petrino, etc etc. I mean jesus. That may be 3 of the top 10 coaches in all of football at least 2. Not to mention the money behind Saban at Alabama.
