all indications are that he wants to take the handcuffs off the offense this season. Not that we are going to run some wide open style of offense but just a reasonably modern style of pro style offense that puts the QB's in better positions and situations to make plays, gives the RB's room to run, and gets the offense moving.

as long as he can do all that with the 5 plays we've been running forever. Les isn't changing anything. We'll run the same offense we've been running. So don't get your hopes up, then come back here all pissed off after a couple of games because you were expecting to see something new. It ain't gonna happen.

Is that really what you want to go with?

Les has been going with it for years.

Football savvy folk know the most successful offenses run very few plays, (10-15)' just from multiple formations and execute those to near perfection.
You thinking LSU runs 5 plays excludes you from the fb savvy list.

sure, we had a lot of great individual talent on offense in 2013. Still finished 6th in the SEC in total offense.

So Chavis turned Miles into a later version of Phil Fullmer?
Interesting statement. I wonder if there is a lot of truth to this. I mean, Fulmer was not a bad coach at TN until the last couple years. And Les, while he always seemed to favor the run, wasn't always totally locked into the no offense offense until more recent years of his tenure. Common denominator? Chief.

You realize the Coach O is not the defensive coordinator right ?

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

The other guy said Chavis had become our offense's Bain. I simply stated that coach O could be the spark to light a fire under Miles' arse. In a round about way, Miles has already stated this to be the case. Who cares what position he holds in the staff.

Thats how he's always done it, nothing new at all. Get a lead then shut down completely... barely hang on in the end
But now we don't have the sloppy mario bros wannabe as a DC. We have O on the sidelines that will start throwing benches when we shut down.

It's known that Chavis preferred a low-risk no turnover offense and it influenced the game plan. It doesn't surprise me that now the cancer is out of the system that we're going to evolve.

LMAO. really, where do y'all get this from? I get that when coaches leave in less than favorable circumstances (esp in the manner that Chavis left), they get some shite. but damn, now he was a cancer who made Les more conservative. I love it.

I agree with you that Chavis gets more blame on here then he deserves, but when he caused this huge budget deficit at LSU it was the final straw for me!!!!

So Chavis wants to work with a conservative offense, therefore he goes to A+M???
