Steele's D gets sacks & had stops against all three. Tepper would have given up 45 to Eastern Michigan.

If true, STeele isn't far behind him. EMU put up 22 with a backup QB. It would've been over 30 with their starter.

Hell, Syracuse might have beaten us if we didn't luck out and face their 5th string QB.

No. Dinardo had much better offenses. LSU was scoring 30+ plus a game when he got fired.

No thank you. THe steele stench needs to go. Look how much better Bama's LB corps got after he left.

I'd forgotten that Syracuse and EMU didn't have their QB. I recall FL didn't have theirs either. LSU lucked out big with that one.

Les clearly had better options. A gross error in judgment.

Big time. Will Grier would've led UF to victory if he played.

Would've been better for us to lose that game now that I look back.

Except you didn't normalize the data.

Tepper: 23.5 pts/game

Steele: 18.97 pts/game

That's a significant gap this late in the season if you are going to equate them.

Also, I wasn't able to find season TOP stats in 1999 and would be cumbersome to dig it up game by game on the phone, but I bet that would slant it even further when you normalize it.

I agree that Steele was a bad hire. Just like BDP was a bad hire and it was a bad decision to put Mallory and Peveto as co DCs.

We have given up 20 points in 9 different games. First time in Lsu history. Only Miss St had less - 19

We brag about our recruiting. This is the worse talent on the D Line in many years. Orgeron has to completely re-load and then develop them. Our linebackers will be terrible next year. Pretty sure we lose Beckwith. We have no replacement for he and Jones. We looked so confused on defense all year. our d backs need a pass rush to be effective. We have had a steady decline since championship game.

How many points, on average, can be directly or indirectly attributed to horrible special teams? Give an offense 30-40 yds to being in scoring position and it changes everything about the way you play defense.
