You are ultra sensitive and protective over this JJ thing.

I’m not overly sensitive; I just don’t like ignoramuses making up crap that obviously is ludicrous, especially based on last week’s game. What you are attempting to do is condemn him for the lack of offensive production last week and that is utterly absurd.

quote:

You only point out the good, while others are objective and point out both sides.

Objective, how is blaming Jefferson for the lack of offensive production last Saturday being objective, especially when overall he played a pretty damn good game? If you want to rip someone, rip that poor excuse for an offensive coordinator that Less Miles hired, because JJ isn’t responsible for the piss poor offensive scheme and for the piss poor offensive play calling.

quote:

153 yards production, regardless of the completion percentage is just not good.

Actually, it was 151, but it’s not JJ’s fault that it’s only 151 yards. He didn’t call the damn plays, that incompetent Crowton called the damn plays. In college football quarterbacks don’t call the plays. In fact, quarterbacks haven’t called the plays for decades. Get over it!

quote:

And no, his option capability is not appreciably improved.

Well then the commentators during the game lied when they commented that it is clear his option execution is far better than it was last year. The problem is that particular option play, which isn’t worth a shite anyway, is particularly lame, but at least JJ let the defense come to him before he pitched the ball back to the trailing back or ran the ball when they didn’t. Last year he would just pitch it even though nobody was near him.

quote:

Try being balanced, will you?

Why don’t you swallow your own medicine and quit being so damn biased?

And JL has with his lousy 40 percent completion rate last season and I want even get into his piss poor 2008 performance? Yeah right.

it’s not JJ’s fault

I have pointed out several (and in fact more) positive aspects of JJ's game than you. You decline to give any objectivity at all in your assessment, and then in turn place all of the offensive woes fault on Crowton. I, meanwhile, agree that Crowton does not know how to manage JJ, while also providing ackowledgment that JJ is below par in his execution of the option and the screens passes. The far majority of folks on this board see this.

Balance = my assessment.

You assessment is comprised of 1) all positives about his performance, 2) blaming Crowton (and I am sure the Oline last year, which is warranted by the way) and 3) deflection away from facts by trying to put down my assessment, all three of which avoid any semblance of recognizing that JJ has a lot of room for growth.

Has he improved? Based on the first game, absolutely. Is he where he needs to be? No he is not.

I am rooting for JJ, but you are so protective of him you ignore everything positive I say about him and hone in on just those things that are not favorable.

As such, your assessment is highly subjective and defensive. It is as if he is your little brother or something.

maybe if LSU was in the SEC East; However, the SEC West is too tough this year to determine as of yet.

Yeah, speculation doesn't mean much since the season is underway. One of the downsides of anonomous message boards are that the people who are correct always come back to gloat, and the people who are wrong just disappear.

I think JJ's level of play can bring us to an SEC championship but we need a lot of other things to happen. Most important change must come from coaching. Obviously JJ can't run the option very well...so don't call on him to run it! Let him work within his strengths or develop some new ones for him. And speaking of player development, how about helping all the kids develop into better athletes instead of depending merely on their god-given talent.
