I guess we'll just have to wait until the Fall to find out.
yea so when he struggles in the fall and we win close or lose close the JJ fans can either say "he found a way to win" or "if the D wouldn't have allowed that last min score we wouldnt have lost 20-14" and that he's the QB that gives our team the best chance

people that take any "stats" seriously in the spring aren't really that smart.

yet if Lee had been 5-17 with a pick-6 you'd have started 4 threads about it by now.

Show me how good the oline is, and I'll tell you if JJ has progressed. W/o a good oline, doesn't really matter who the qb is.

that says it all right there a QB is only as good as his protection

not every QB is equally as bad with a bad o-line...obviously a good O-line helps but good QBs can manage better with bad protection

Look at Texas, their O-line was not that good and they went undefeated until the NC game and scored tons of points

I see 8-4 again. Doesn't matter who the QB is.

cuz thats essentially the game of football.

Look at Moo St, you take one "big play" away and it effects the game results. Same with Ga, same with Ark, same with Ole Miss, same with Bama.

So if JJ is still having 5 for 13 games and 17 yds next yr, we've got to have big plays. Keeping in mind that Trindon and Chad are now gone.

progressing

Nope. He's just the same as he was in his first practice for LSU. Hasn't progressed a bit.

And spring scrimmages are exactly the same as games vs other teams in the regular season. And a good starting qb will never have an off game.

we will know by half time of the UNC game, if it don't click, time to move on.

This year should be a real marker where the talent is

Unless all the pundits are totally missing the boat on talent evaluation, our talent>>>>our record the past 2 years.

I agree with the pundits, some who post here do not. I don't need a revalation on the talent level, they do IMO.

Playing vs UNC and WVU will be a better barometer than ULL and Tulane IMO.

LSU's inability to move the ball had little to do with some of the QB problems we have had the last two years.

Some, yes. There are other problems beside the O line.

Which is why I am hoping an offseason of watching film will finally resonate with JJ. Needs to see how to operate as a QB when you don;t have a decent O line. Colt McCoy did a great job playing behind an average O line and a weak running game. But McCoy has the QB tools, the intangibles that are not measured on paper.

This is what JJ lacks, and hopefully film study and practice will fix it.
