At least just welter. A lot of people love to pin our defensive problems on welter because he isn't an adequate replacement for K Mint but I'm yet to see a thumper physical LB on our squad and that includes Lamin. Kwon has played ok but isn't lighting the world on fire. I just wonder if welter has been a bit of a scapegoat.

The major problems on our D was the secondary not our LBs.

welter is the worse of an average front 7

and he justification on the field is to be the "coach"

People literally blamed welter and said minter would have lined the secondary up properly.

No, it is not time to stop, I watched the replay last night, every play on the run he is out of postion. Every play on past coverage he bails too far too fast leaving 10 yrd middle open. the few times I did see him fill the hole on contact is knocked backwards.....I am not saying he is our only issue but he is a huge liability in the middle. It's the only reason he is there is to get the calls right I'm a communication flow correct...... We have to find a better way

Thi is what i saw after watchin the game again. Phillips looked more physical out there. Beckwith will be a better option towards the end of the season

I really don't see how you can even pinpoint the problem when the defense did not do anything well at all.

One play Ego pushed his man inside and the back ran through the gap w/o a lead blocker. Welter was 4 yds back in his athletic stance waiting on the back to come to him. Of course he gets burnt and what should have been a stop at the line was a first down run. My only complaint with him is he doesn't attack, seems like he always waits on the play to come to him.

I find it funny that Welter gets called out for playing bad (probably cause hes white) whenever he did just as bad as anybody else on defense. Kwon was the only player that impressed me.

The race baiters won't have it.

Too convient for them to put it all on welter.
Typical though.

Of course it's bc he's white.
Be careful though, logic on this board goes like this.....
Take up for white guy= racist.
Hate on said player= not racist.

The thought process and and double standard on this board by some of these douchebags is impressive.

Tool I would agree he is already 4 yards deep on running plays hell even when he is in position the running back gains and extra 2 yards after contact. Do the math that's already 6 yards given up just sad watching that shite. Most of the time he gets blocked anyway. It is just bad all the way around.

Guy Welter os horrible at what is suppose to be the focal point of the defense. Usually the MLB is the focal point of defensive unit, the QB if you will. He shows no agression nor skills at covering. Guys are still confused back there and are out of place because he doesn't know his shite. It's obviously not all on him as the safeties are more like riskies because anything deep, they are somehow at the line of scrimmage. Barrow is not doing good either as I believe he just fed off of Minter's success. The defensive lind gets absolitely no pressure and it is really hurting us. We have been accustomed most of the last decade to incredible line play, and we just don't have it today.

No way Freak goes first or second round, Ego isn't even up for 3rd round at this point. Somehow these guys have to find a reason. No player on that defense looks special right now, but some of that is them having to cover up others' shitty mistakes.

Yeah because a bunch of middle aged white dudes dont want to see a white middle linebacker from LSU succeed

I haven'tseen anyone bag on Jordan Allen. Never saw anyone talk bad about Hester. But those two guys havent been absolutely horrid at their position, while bigger, better talent was waiting on the bench
