No, he's earned respect.......plus we would trade ours for theirs anytime.

He WAS a great coach in his time. That has passed.
And what is PSU's record this year again? Hm?
I doubt Paterno does much hands-on coaching these days but it's very clear he runs a heck of a program.

I did on their board, but not too hard. Nobody seemed offended. It was really only about the fact that he's old, which is certainly not debatable.

You can make fun of him but he's sort of irrelevant, a fossil if you will. I doubt he even does much coaching.

Will he run off the field because he is about to shite his pants?

big deal i could give a shite if he is a legend. LSU shits on legends.
so yea its ok to make fun of him. we need to stop being sensitive pussies and flip over more portapotties.
Thats alot of respect you show here. Go ahead and make fun of Paterno. Ill give you some topics to start with:
1. College footballs all-time winningest coach.
2. Runs one of the cleanest programs in the country. One of the nations top graduation rates amoung its players.
3. 5 perfect undefeated seasons, 3 NCs.
4. Most all time bowl wins of any coach (23)
5. 23-11 all time bowl record.
6. 5-2 record vs SEC since 1990.
Start with those.

Holtz can't say that. He cheated like a mother fricker.

Joe Pa is off limits. Period.

I think so, but you deep down you have to respect him.

I mean, he is the coach of our opponent in the bowl game.
If it's going to be limited to "Joe Paterno sat behind Jesus in the third grade"-type stuff, I think that even Joe Pa would have to be okay with it because it's harmless, funny (and, relatively, true).
But, I would be leery of picking on what will certainly be the the coach with the most wins in big league college football, even if they play the sport for another million years.

I don't think Joe Pa has really coached a game in 3 years.

you are going to make the buckeye bitch cry. god forbid someone not give a shite about joe pa and how nice he is. I really could careless what he has done, no one should be off limits. Is it impressive what the geezer has done? yea sure but that doesn't mean you can't make fun of him.

I have respected Coach Paterno ever since shortly after he took over from Coach Eagle.
Why? Because each year at the start of fall practice, he told his team that only a few of you are going to play pro ball, so take advantage of the opportunity to get a good education because the vast majority of you will not make your living playing for money. He has a history of helping his players get degrees so that they would be successful in life.
That attitude demands respect!!!!

This.
He smells like diaper cream and hot dogs and I wouldn't let my kids be alone in the same room with him.

would you make fun of Lou Holtz?
I wouldn't, therefore I wouldn't make fun of JoePa, but some of you are juvenile enough to do it. So go for it, show your age.

If he was walking around Central Park in the nude feeding pigeons, the yes I would.

If Joe Pa showed his age, he'd be dead 30 years ago.

Why not? It's war. Did Sitting Bull say, "Hands off of Custer"? Nope, he scalped his arse.
