Was he complaining or just stating a fact?

Some of yall are missing the point. Yeah he probably shouldn't say it, but it's hard to get that upset with him when you expect them to just catch it on low percentage plays... go routes, deep posts, and wheel routes in limited reps.

Eta: oh yeah and fade routes

Watching the first half of that game, you didn't think establishing the passing attack was part of the game plan? They threw like 15-16 times in the first half (counting PI calls). We were only up by 6 at halftime, so we went back to our bread and butter... First play of 2nd half... 75 yard TD LF7.

Am I not remembering this correctly?

I realize they had a poor game last week, but we aren't going to continue to get top rated receivers with this ineptitude in the passing game.

With the stable of running backs that LSU has had the past several years (and what they have on campus for the next 3 or 4 years) LSU is not going to pass the ball like some other schools might. But if any receiver on the team is unhappy about play calling the last few weeks, they shouldn't be unhappy with Harris or whoever is calling the plays. Catch the passes that are "catch-able" and more pass plays will probably be called.

I'm not upset with how he feels. WRs are the most selfish people on a football team; I expected them to want more opportunities. I'm embarrassed that he voiced it in an interview and especially after a game where he gave the WRs an F-.

How can you in the same breath say you give the WRs an F- and also want more looks? That makes no sense.

No, you are.

It's a team sport.

Based on this quote, he is worried more about individual stats and accolades than the team (which is undefeated and ranked top 10 in the country, btw).

Like they say in peewee ball, there's no "I" in "Team".

He gets more routes over the middle than most. He dropped a DR that wasn't a fade or a deep route.

He needs to fricking catch the fricking ball before he complaints about not getting enough passes.

Look, LSU obviously has had some pass scheme issues for a while now, but when EMU's secondary is dictating things, that's on the players. All these guys are very talented. When LSU does have occasions where they attempt to pass, they need to give it their everything so Les and Co. won't be so hesitant to pass in other situations.

They need more looks. That's the problem. It sucks they aren't really performing well and that one is not happy with his role but we need them if we want to win a title.

We have to get the passing game going.

Don't know what to tell you. Yeah he should have kept it to himself but he's right. This team has all the ability on paper to have a chance at running the table and will finish the season with two losses because of the inability to get the pass game going, in addition to special teams. A limited sample size of a couple drops doesn't change that IMO. We've seen 11 years of this shite with two, maybe three outliers. At some point you have to recognize where the problem is.

Them dropping the ball is not on them not having looks. Both Dural and Dupre have had enough looks in their time at LSU to learn to catch a football.

The quote was terrible due to timing and due to context.

Your logic makes me think of shitty sales people who don't take advantage of the opportunities available. Instead they complain that there aren't enough opportunities, instead of earning more. This is something that can be carried over in all sorts of scenarios in life.

I wonder if he's familiar with devery Henderson, Dwayne bowe, Terrence Tolliver, Brandon lafell, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, etc. LSU seems to be a pretty decent place to go for a receiver if you want a career in the NFL. Learn to block, make the most of your opportunities, and support your teammates Malachi.
