Aside from that.. I hope Studs doesn't call another FB dive against a defense like Alabama.

I think that was a "hey Copeland, we really appreciate you smashing people's faces in so our RBs can get all of the glory. Here's a few touches"

We ran that play so much because of the defense alignment...their DBs were 10 yds off our receivers the whole game...even in the red zone they were giving us a 7 yard cushion

Thank you!

And since when did we turn our nose up to 200 yds passing with a 72% complete rate?

I'll take that for the next 13 games in a hearts beat.

the bubble can set up deeper passes, ya know? besides, sometimes it's a check out of a run play that gets us 5-10 yds. I'll take that.

now a bubble on 3rd and long, I got issues.

We do too much "setting up." It's predictable.

frick that play, Please remove it. We ran it probably 12 times and it was little to no gain 10 of the 12.

At least we have a QB who can excecute the throw with some efficiency. JJ could not, and JL was better but not great at it.

And I'm told it's a play that's a staple of our offense. I'm told we run it to set up other stuff whether it's overly successful or not (much like the option last year).

So if that's the case, at least the ball is getting where it's supposed to be most times. And it helps Mett's completion % and maybe gets him into some rhythmn.

But yeah, I'd like to see some different plays every now and then that set up other things as well. I would imagine we have such options?

Wow. That's the point of setting up. It's why it was so wide open on the pump fake.

Without question. Bet we could have done the pump fake after the 3rd or 4th bubble screen rather than the 8th or 9th. That may have even made subsequent bubble screens more successful. Just sayin.

Possibly, but it is more likely that they were waiting for NT to press before they went deep.

People need to understand that our offense under Miles is boring. It is also effective. If you want a flashy offense, I suggest you tune into more WVU, Oregon, or USC games.

The same Bama team that most on here are sucking off today had a QB who went 11/21 against a porous defense. That boring and inefficient system is going to roll LSU in November, but we have no shot against Bama ourselves??? Give me a fricking break.

Does LSU know how to run a screen pass to the running back in the flats??

The dump off screen pass to the HB over the middle does not work.

It's the Carl Smith offense.

Subtract 5 yards on running plays by pitching it backwards, and pass sideways instead of for positive yards.

Sean Payton could spend his free time teaching Fatrawa how to run a screen pass but he is too busy gelling his hair for Bama games and giving UNT pep talks.

it worked...one play it got 10-12 yards for a first down by shepard. what i hate is they ran it so much to where in the second half, it became less effective...and they Still was running it!!!

by then I think it was more of a "quick throws to keep the qb from getting killed"...although Mett's last 3 passes were over 30 yards, although the Shep pass was brought back

I think everyone would agree it was a lack of a vertical passing game that cost us a championship. Miles never had enough faith in his QB's. The question is will he have enough faith in Mett? The running game will be good but the D is not going to be as good as last year. Like last year, we can probably beat most of the teams on the schedule playing it close to the vest. But you are not going to beat Bama and Saban if he only has to defend 10 yds from the line of scrimmage.
