What I want won't factor in to what LSU does. It was simply an observation that some posters are too young to remember the lean years and think that winning at LSU is a given.

Your original post was a clear insinuation that firing Les Miles equates to decades of irrelevancy.

We bring this up once a week, myself included.

I certainly remember Saturday, Oct 17, 1992 when I asked a guy for 1 ticket to see LSU vs Kentucky and gave the guy 22 bucks face value. He gave me 4 tickets and said, "It's okay buddy....invite a couple more friends and have fun".

We lost.....27-25. And LSU had to work just to get the 25.

Then, I remember in 1997 after we beat Number 1 Florida, I slammed my GF into the concessions so she wouldn't get trampled while the entire stadium tried to bring down the goalposts.

I've seen the best.....and the worst. And so much in between.

I do not hate Les. I'm not even on the bandwagon to fire him. I am just starting to join others who are getting restless. Can we just get some offense....please?

In between Les Miles tenure and Saban's stay here, we've had 16 years of winning football at LSU and 2 National Championships. I'm afraid that lots of posters in here are too young to remember the Mike Archer and Curley Hallman days at LSU?
And I'm not here to say so much whether Les should be let go or not, only that history proves that the wrong hire can be both painful and prolonged.

nope lived through all of it. and with the resources we have now, that will never happen again. really should have never happened in the first place to be honest

While I understand that firing Les Miles COULD lead to a decade of bad football, I also realize that our other option is to keep him and accept 8-9 wins max per year. He is like my father-in-law, old and set in his ways. He's not going to change, and there's only so many times you can run a flea flicker of fake field goal to catch the opposition unaware. He's been a great ambassador for LSU, and has served us well. He should be treated like a gentleman and shown the door respectfully.
If LSU wants to win championships again, we need to move on. It's worth the risk.

Can you dumb asses please all post this same crap in one thread?

I've noticed a trend on TD that people that have a different take than their own are dumb asses. It's quite astounding.

My dad is 74 and a huge LSU fan. Has had tickets since he graduated from LSU. Still goes to the games today. He also remembers having out houses as a young kid, but that central plumbing sure did change everything. Hell back then they used be scared on gas creeping up the pipes and blowing up the houses.

You mean the days when the AD joe dean didn't care about championships or spending money? Facilities were crap. They were who joe dean wanted them to be, maybe good enough to be top 25 and in a bowl.

The culture and expectations here have changed

I'm afraid some of the older generations are like battered wives. The worse it gets, the more you love him.

Let me ask you a question pertaining to the "other side of that proverbial coin":

Could you imagine years when LSU is in the SECCG nearly every 2-3 years, and ALWAYS talked about for college playoff teams, like Oregon, Alabama, OSU?

If you watch all ESPN pre-season shows, LSU is NOT mentioned often ------ until the Alabama game, and we all know what has happened after that since Jan. 9, 2012

Good lord man are you scared of your shadow? The guy makes $4MM to put out putrid offenses year after year. It isn't getting worse. It will get better when we hire someone who actually knows how to coach.

Again, nothing to do with football.

Why are so many people afraid to be great? Les' new ceiling 5-6 conference wins a season. In fact, in 11 years, he has only won more than 6 conference games twice, 2005 and 2011. I'm willing to roll the dice to see if we can do better. The talent is available.

Just about as much to do with LSU football in 2015 that LSU in the 90's does. Guess the Patriots should have never gotten rid of Parcels, because that damn Belichick sure didn't work out.

Tell us what it was like OL' Wise One

Btw, your thread title is a statement. You use a period for those, not a question mark.
