Before that, I was ecstatic when we went 9-3. Saban truly ushered in a new world order for LSU football.

Truth. He dragged lsu into the modern era, fought for the ops building to be built, etc.
Per skip Bertman, he did try and come back to lsu but skip told him we had a coach. The rest is history.

You speak true. I may have disliked the way he left, and particularly hated him going to our rival and having unprecedented success at our expense, but Saban’s had my respect since his days at LSU.

I never hated Saban. I didn’t like that he went to bama but I understood why. He helped me become a huge LSU fan. Before him, I knew little to nothing about LSU and didn’t care.

We knew he was eventually going to go to the NFL, but even then, the dude kept telling Miami no until Wayne literally gave him ownership stake.
He would've been an idiot to pass up that deal.
As for going to Bama, yeah it sucked he went to Bama, but it's not like we were hating Les at that time. It sucks the way it all played out for us, but I never felt like Saban did it to stick it to us.
