I for one would be an LSU lock. I'm just wondering how many fans on this board are die-hard LSU fans and how many like LSU but would weigh out their options at other schools.

some of the population is not totally brought up on LSU. some of the population first recollection of football is grambling or southern. If i was a big time recruit especially seeing this benton/jackson/mcknight/randle fiasco, I would take a trip to every campus that was available namely USC, TEXAS, FLORIDA, TENN, BAMA, MICH, PENN ST, FSU, AUBURN, GEORGIA and Notre Dame. Why put all of your eggs in a basket and risk being taken for granted.

I would be a lock to LSU. Probably wouldn't even visit anywhere else, wouldn't care to. I'd just have to tell the other coaches calling me, I'm sorry coach, but nothing you say to me will get me to attend your university. I have been an LSU fan all my life, and can't see myself playing anywhere else but there. I'd rather go 0-12 at LSU, than go 12-0 anywhere else. Coach, you would be better off recruiting someone else, someone that you may actually have a chance at getting. Sorry, but I can't change the way I feel about the Tigers.

If I had the grades to "go anywhere" literally, and I was thinking honestly about projecting to the next level--i.e. on my best day I would be a poor man's jack hunt--I would have to think seriously about getting four years at a place like stanford for free...almost impossible to pass up.
but if I've got the skills and confidence to maybe play on Sunday's, then its LSU

I'm a die hard LSU fan, but it would depend on position and competition. If I'm a QB, its hard for me to think that I wouldnt be in L.A. getting the movie star treatment at USC. Hell, pretty much any position would be hard to overlook USC, but if I were say a linebacker, it would be tough to overlook PSU or another big 10 school. I'd never want to go to a big 12 school or another sec team. I guess overall, no matter the position, LSU, USC, PSU, ND, OSU, or Michigan would be at the top.

ETA-In the end, no matter what, it would be really hard to get me away from LSU.

I'd pull a Russell Shepard and even help get more recruits to come along.

i would tell Les Miles, Paul Maneiri, or Trent Johnson i was coming to LSU my freshman year of high school, if i knew i was that good, if a coach called me and would be like sorry, i'm already going to LSU, i'm not talking to anybody else....(and that would be for any sport, [football, baseball, or basketball])

Since most of you aren't of that caliber of player so you really don't have the full knowledge or want in seeing any other university. If you got your dream job in louisiana that paid less than a similar job in say texas, florida, california, alabama(hard to imagine this scenario.) Would your dream job at the first oppurtunity for less pay or would you go for a similar oppurtunit and make more money for yourself.

Your thread has been officially hijacked.

Oh I would take every visit possible. Those guys are like royalty on those visits.

I would be a secret LSU lock. I would show "interest" in schools such as Hawaii, Southern Cal, Miami, etc. take the trip and come back a tiger

If I was the caliber of player that really had a chance of playing in the NFL I would probably come to LSU. If I wasn't, but was still getting a lot of love I would go to a way better academic school. I would rather go to a slightly worse football program to get to go to some of these highly regarded academic program.

I am engineering student and GT would be high on my list because it is still relatively close to home.

I would say I'm a Tennessee lock for over a year, along with my father (who is a coach by the way). On NSD, I'd say my mom is flying in from California, so I'd postpone my letter signing till the next day. God forbid, there could be a sudden flight delay.

Oh, and then I'd commit to LSU, and tell everyone I've been a lock to be a Tiger for quite some time.

No, but seriously.

I'd take visits just for the hell of it. You only get to go through the process once, unless you're DeAngelo Benton or some other JUCO player. But nothing would be able to change my mind from being a Tiger.

+1

I would probably take out Texas and Michigan though.

Personally speaking (not as a recruit), God knows I'm as big an LSU fan as they come, but I would have gone to one of those two schools in a heartbeat. I had family issues at the time that kept me from leaving home, and would have loved to go there, even though I don't regret graduating from LSU.
