and you had the grades to get into any school you wanted to, would you be a 100% lock to LSU or would you take visits somewhere else?

I for one would be an LSU lock. I'm just wondering how many fans on this board are die-hard LSU fans and how many like LSU but would weigh out their options at other schools.

Not a chance. Probably wouldn't go anywhere in the SEC but LSU, but I could easily see myself taking visits to ND, UVA, Stanford, etc.

Today I'd be a 100% LSU lock. During Curley Hallman's years I would visit other schools.

I would verbally commit to Alabama and maybe even enroll...............then on signing day, I would switch to LSU and flip them the bird!!!!!!

Seriously though. I don't blame some of these kids from going elsewhere. Someone that talented really needs to evaluate things in terms of their ultimate goals and future and put themselves in the best situation to eventually get there.

Who is the coach? Curly Hallman = NO

Who is at my position? Last 3 #1's at my position = not likely

I would have LSU as my top, but I'd certainly visit other programs (yes, including Bama) and weigh the choices.

HOWEVER, I'd be honest with all coaches and not spring surprise last minute changes on any of them

I can see your point, but what I am saying is that all that stuff would not matter to me. I would be an LSU lock no matter what.

I'm gonna soft commit to LSU then visit other schools. Take advantage of the NCAA rules. Maybe get out of class a few days. Then lead other schools on making them think I was interested. Probably tell Saban I am going to sign with Bama on NSD and surprise the world. Then I am going to wrap my LSU hat up in about 15 layers of trash bags and a couple of boxes and have my family, friends and dogs take turns peeling back a layer of suspense until at last my selection is made known and the beam of light shines down from the heavens as I don the P&G head gear.

I'd take visits. Why not? Its not as if LSU is gonna pull your schollie because you didn't commit immediately?

Don't you think this being an LSU board that most if not all would say they would be an LSU lock. I mean I know I would but that is what most people put.

LSU if from Louisiana and family in Louisiana. Family is just different in other places, so it's not as big a deal (not in all cases of course).

It would depend. For me, it would be LSU regardless, but I can understand looking at the specifics for yourself.

I do not understand lying about your commitment though, or crapping on the taxpayers on your way out (if you attend a public school and/or it hurts your flagship state school).

If I was in that position, I would absolutely commit to ND, or OU, or better yet, Alabama or USC.

Then, on NSD, I wouldn't just wear a hat. I would wipe my arse with the hats of the other schools I'd shown interest in, Alabama being last, then I'd wash my hands and put on an LSU hat and say I'm staying four years without a shadow of a doubt.

Now, after four years, a heisman, National Player of the year awards, a couple MNCs and I was without question the top choice going into the NFL draft, I would state that if the New Orleans Saints didn't draft me, I would refuse to play for whoever did, regardless of the amount of money they offered me.

As a 55-year-old lifelong Tiger fan, I'd be in Purple and Gold. But as a 17-year-old #1 national recruit? Hell if I know, but I'd bet that somewhere in my calculations I'd have to be thinking about which program can best showcase my talents and get me ready for the NFL.
