I would tell him to be quiet for at least 1 week, and let everyone digest it. I would then tell him to start out by apologizing in front of the media to both qb's. Then make a statement how this will not happen again, as long as he is coach. That this was the greatest team he ever coached, but he thinks next year might be better.
What would you tell him to do?

I would advise him to get a new PR advisor. And then I'd leave the building.

This sounds like a hostage scenario.

Tell him to apologize to rantards for a 13-1 season and an SEC Championship. Not.

I don't think there's anything he can do. He's already said he's the Coach, it's his team, and he don't care what the fan's think. He's in a no win situation. Apologize for what? Not saying he shouldn't. He's hung either way. He won't throw plaers under the bus, and he shouldn't. I don't know what I'd tell him. If I were his PR advisor, I think I'd quit.

Two things that will never happen. It wasn't the greatest team ever.

The last natl. championship winning team was.

Apologizing is for bitches!

He gets PAID to make tough decisions and while the decision may be unpopular, its one that he had to make. I would release a statement or 2 about coaches/early departures, but the next time you would hear from me would be on NSD when I was done inking a top 5/10 recruiting class.

Apologizing to an irrational and spoiled fan base would be idiotic.

I agree, but he is going to have a window where he can minimize the damage, not too soon not to long from now. The big impact is on the recruiting trail. He shouldn't apologize to the fans, but to his players.

Something went down. Some explanation has to be given regarding that bizarre football game.

It's just a question of whether revealing what went down has more substantial reprocussions than just staying quiet and look like an imbecile that game planned poorly.

Les Miles needs to explain and apologizes for not giving Lee a shot, and the offensive meltdown.
This isn't over until Les Miles "sings"!
Les is ultimately responsible. He needs to stand up and publicly apologize to everyone who has ever lived in the State of Louisiana.
