Yes. I’d have hired Dave Aranda and the team would have won a NC within the next four years without a doubt.

While we're dreaming...If I had a time machine I would go back and show Saban how he would fail at Miami Dolphins and convince him to stay at LSU.

If I had a time machine anything LSU related would be way down the list on what I went back and fixed. First things would be the things that set us on the path got this country to this fricked up position we are in.

No it's not...

He greatly set the program back, but if you do that you take away the possibility of something like 2019 happening, but not necessarily

Yes necessarily, without O, 2019 doesn't happen, sure you could have won another championship with another coach possibly...but not with a team that is now recognized as THE GOAT...

Yes, and my godfather played for Curley and I went to every home and away game from 1991-1994

I would absolutely love to not return to that

not without knowing who the hire is.

i think O was a clusterfrick that truly lucked into 2019.
but 2019 still happened. and i loved it.

Fuentes or Fleck may have maxed us out at 8/10 wins and just hovered there forever (like Les).

not fireable per se, but also not much fun.

We should have hired Aranda from the start.

Some of you idiots need to go back and watch some 2019 highlights on YouTube. I wouldn’t change shite. Period.

That was one of the best periods of my life. Both football wise and personally. Then 2020 happened.

I miss fall of 2019. Dang.

Understand, but as much as LSU fell off during last 2 years, it doesn’t approach the horrors that Curly put on the field.

It feels very close, and lsu is so much different now

We are top of the top in terms of what we spend on football now. In the 90s, we weren’t even close to the top in terms of budget.

Absolutely not a chance

2019 was well worth what we are going through now.

I would have traded it for the same team with Devin White staying his senior year.

Just thinking of Devin White on that team is scary.

But what if you could have success without the bullshite?

I feel like we are so engrained in Louisiana to think everything had to come with a negative caveat or a Palm to grease

Saban success then he butt rapes us at Bama

Brand new Alex box that’s built half arse from the start

Les miles success then his out of date refuse to change offense

Coach Os one hit wonder than his plunge back to the 90s

Can’t we just have 90s baseball era of happiness?

I'd take the greatest college football team in history with 2 down years, then getting brian kelly to pick us back up.

we'll be back

I think you have nailed it. Anyone who calls themselves and LSU and would trade 2019, is on shaky ground.
With NIL we don't know what lies ahead. We may never win another championship. 1958 until Saban was a long dry spell.
I'll always appreciate Orgeron and 2019. No telling how many times I watched it during the COVID year. Thanks O for filling in a bad time with positive entertainment.

He also built the lsu brand/culture of not sticking around and bailing.

That was happening 10 years ago with Les. Orgeron didn’t build that.

Where would we be if Alleva had actually pulled Jimbo or Herman? Way worse than here, I promise you that.

I also don’t agree with that at all.

Well, then you’re retarded.

Would we have a national title in the last 6 years like O did? Zero chance.

Possibly not

Possibly not? We’d be coming off our 5th straight 8-4/7-5 season, trying to round up the money to buy out Jimbo’s ridiculous contract. Your Time Machine is not taking us to the reality of that actual time. It was Jimbo, Herman, or Orgeron. That was the list. Probably shouldn’t have been the list, but the list it was.

quote:

But I def don’t think we would be in our current state either

Exactly what state do you think we’re in? We’re gonna be competing for the West in ‘23. It’s still cool to come to LSU. Even if the big national recruits don’t sign, they all put us in their top 5 or so. Our brand is still very strong, Brian Kelly is probably a top 5-7 coach in CFB and put together a tremendous staff. Your idea of our “current state” is fricking delusional.
