That’s reasonable but his pathetic recruiting class in 2018 was already done. But it’s more of a best case scenario. If ever a coach deserved to be fired immediately after a NC, it’s Meddlin’ Ed.

So, you have a time machine and all you can think about is Ed Orgeron?

Lots of former O supporters just can't let him (or their support for him) go.

Not necessarily.

It’s a lot of unknowns that led LSU to 2019 that O played a big part of.

You guys are forgetting a key part in LSU getting Burrow. It took O failing to get Surtain and another DB that went to Clemson forgot his name. So he did not filling that class to have the spot available for him. Another coach may have filled that class and Burrow may not have had a spot.

Also does the new coach keep Aranda who brings in Busch who had the connection to Burrow.

Also does a new coach keep that 2017 class together which had a lot of key contributors to 2019. Bringing in an outsider could easily break up a class.

No. However, I would not have given him an auto raise/extension after he won a Natty. It's not my money, but I really regret they did that. I don't care how normal it is to do so. LSU was in a unique position. They could have let his contract play itself out. He was never going anywhere.

I’m pretty sure the raise was in the contract. I’m not sure if the extension was or not.

True. I am fine with that then. I just wish they hadn't extended him.

Or, ya know, we’re just not willing to trade in the greatest team of all time in exchange for a “maybe natty”

LSU could not win another game for the next 5 years and I would still not trade anything for 2019 season.

No way. That was one of my all-time favorite years as it concerns LSU and I’ve been a fan a long time (graduated in ‘89).
That season brought me so much enjoyment, I’ve re-watched every game at least 10 times and the Bama and Clemson games probably closer to 20. It got me through the summer with no sports.
It has also lessened my angst/care about LSU football a tremendous amount…it’s as if we reached the mountain top and everything after is gravy. I still love LSU football but I’ve lost the anger when we lose…I still think, “that sucked but we still have 2019”…

And give up the greatest season in the history of college football? You're kidding me, right!?!

I know it went down like the Titanic following the 2019 season, but I'd still take it!

Definitely not.

I was ok with the hiring (not my first choice)

Loved the Perfect Season

And was ready for him to go after the UCLA loss last year.

Wouldn’t change a thing- he helped us to our best season ever, and now we have a better HC

are you fine with a random title replacing the 2019 season?
