You just confirmed exactly what I thought.

We all have expectations. Some of us have lived long enough to realize we can't always have what we want or expect, and it's not always anyone's fault.

And lived long enough to understand how stupid it is to let our egos and self-worth get tied up in teams we can't do anything about but watch.

And lived long enough to understand the futility of making demands nobody is going to listen to.

He's not a coach. He's the guy in the middle between the OC and DC saying, "Yaw, yaw." every time the OC or the CD wants to call a play or formation.

Orgeron should have never got this job but he's here, and as bad as things were, a win would go a long way to steadying the ship for the future.

The guy that hastily hired him should have been shitcanned months ago.

None of which means you have to accept a poor product or that its never okay to get rid of poor performer or that people who get paid millions shouldn't have high expectations place on them. Some of these attempts at wisdom just seem like excuses for settling for mediocrity.

I went through the 80s and 90s and what I learned from it is that LSU is perfectly capable of lowest lows and highest highs and it takes the right person to make that happen. These things don't just randomly fall from the sky.

Not forgotten, but if we beat Bama at home, you’re damn right he’s forgiven

Nothing to forgive. He didn't make Alleva hire him. He didn't hold LSU hostage. I think his intentions are good. I think he has a plan in place. His execution of that plan has improved as the year goes on. I think LSU can win this week. But they may not. Either way if he goes 11-2 or 10-3 in his first full season with a lot of youth on this team returning, I would call this a successful year. Especially if he combines those results with a Top 5-10 signing class that addresses the trenches. I would be very encouraged with the direction of the program.

And what's that, wise one? That I am a young guy without your wisdom or your vast worldly experiences? Get over yourself.

You do know there you are, right. A sports board where fans bitch when there team fails and sometimes there is bitching when a team is successful. You can try to excuse the Troy defeat as much as you want, but my expectation will always be that LSU should NEVER lose to a Troy. You can think whatever floats your boat.

Lose every year to mid majors to troll the fanbase. I don't freaking care as long we beat Bama every year. I'm kinda tired losing to them. And, if we beat Bama, we will always be running the table. Yes, they are that good!
