Somebody finally got it right. Apparently many of the posters have short memories or just became tiger fans in the last year. Heck if we win them all but don't continuously cover the spread there would be bitching.

Exactly. No matter how realistic people try to be now, some will still bitch about how he's a horrible coach after every loss. I mean, when we beat Bama 2 years ago, but didn't cover the spread (I think it was 18 points) people complained about that. When we won against Auburn this year, people called him stupid.

LSU football is here to stay. Nobody will get off the bandwagon even if we go 8-4 which we won't.

I'm predicting an 8-4 year with losses to UF, UGA, Auburn and USC. I ain't jumping ship though, I'm glad we have Miles and I've got confidence in him. We'll be fine.

I am trying to figure out which four games you think we are, without a doubt, going to lose. Are there really four teams on LSU's schedule that are better than us right now?

Nope, there aren't 4 teams that are better however we lost to two teams that we were better than last year in winning the MNC.

Bama is getting better however they play us at LSU.

Georgia is loaded but they play us at LSU as well.

Auburn isn't as talented but we play them at Auburn.

South Carolina isn't as talented yet we play them at South Carolina.

Florida is loaded (although their defensive backfield seems weakened recently) yet we play them at Florida.

Arkansas isn't loaded yet we play them at Arkansas.

It isn't whether we're better, it's going to be how well our young QB's manage the game. The early part of our schedule gives our QB's a little bit of time prior to SEC play beginning with Auburn.

I'm thinking 8-4 at worst and anything better is excellent in my view. It's a crap shoot. There's always the fact that LSU has enough talent and good coaching to go undefeated as well.

But your worth as a team is proved out over the course of the season. Follow me for a moment...

For us to finish 8-4, it means we were 4-4 in conference play. There is no reasonable chance for us to lose a non-conference game.

Last year in the SEC, five teams finished better than 4-4. Then, three teams were 4-4: Miss. State, Alabama and Arkansas.

Are you suggesting that next year, we will be just as good as Miss. State, Alabama or Arkansas last year? Or that there will be four or five teams that finish ahead of us in the SEC?

I just don't think that is possible.

I'm thinking we win one out of Ga, Aub, FL, and USC. Then we also lose one we shouldnt (Miss. St, AL, OM). There's your 4.

I do think we will be a much better team towards the end of the year than we are at the beginning. So if we can manage to win the Aub game, we may also have a shot to knock off Ga or USC. That would put us at 9-3.

But even then, will 5-3 be enough to get to the SEC ship? 9-3 at best puts us in the Cap 1 bowl, and more likely in the Cotton. I'm betting a lot of you would be ranting about that as well.

some will given the rising expense of CFB--not many; but there won't be 70,000 people on campus for gameday that don't have a ticket, don't want a ticket and couldn't spell LSU if it was tattooed on their chest.

My 2 cents, 1 out of 3 vs UGA, UF, and AU.

We will probably lose to either Bama, AR-Kansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina (trap game).

My prediction, 9-3. I don't see us any less than 8-4.

Not gonna happen. We have as much talent as any team in the country. A great offensive CO. And a head coach who knows he has a "damn strong football team". I can't believe how so many on this board tink that because we have to bring in a new QB (just like every other team has to do from time to time) that we are going 8-4. I say repeat and bring on the University of Southern California.

I'll never fall off the LSU football high. I love everything about it and wouldn't think twice about it.

If 2007 taught us anything, it was that anything is possible. I mean Pitt? Two losses, leapfrogging into the NC game?

Having said that, it's easy to forget just how close so many games were--Auburn and Fla were wars, we came from way behind vs. Bama. Ole Miss played us tough til the end. Turning point in the USC game was a fake FG. So many wins could have gone the other way--ditto our losses. You change the equation a little bit, put us on the road w/ an inexperienced QB and, again, anything is possible--including a very successful year, along w/ 4-5 losses.

In July it's hard to imagine an off year. Then they kick off and it's roller coaster city.

Exactly- For those saying that 7-5 is a possibility (and I never say never), but we would have to go 3-5 in the SEC to go 7-5. We won the national championship last year, we return most of our interior guys, and we have a new QB and CBs. Do we really think that after our recent recruiting success and our on the field success that we will drop to under .500 in the SEC??? Come on now. My prediction is 9-3, but I am holding out hope for 10-2.

Realistically speaking, I would take 9-3. If our defensive line plays well that will make those two inexperienced cornerbacks look good.

Hell with our defensive line pressuring the qb the corners dont have to be unbelievable. An experienced line will be great for the new corners they will get better and better as the season goes on, LSU has atheletes fa sho, so thats not too big of an issue. The QB situation is similar with a very experienced offensive line they will have some time and hell with our stable of running backs and experieced recievers i think we will be alright. At least Wishful Thinking
